Position Summary

The selected candidate may choose to work remote in a home office in the United States, or in our Ann Arbor location.

The Geonexus Account Executive (AE) is a hunter and closer, responsible for generating revenue by selling subscriptions of the Geonexus Integration Platform software and implementation services into net new accounts. The AE finds it easy to build relationships with multiple stakeholders and key decision makers to influence and move opportunities to close. Our target customers are enterprise organizations with complex sales cycles where relationship building skills are essential to sustain momentum. The AE will pursue multiple opportunities in parallel each at different stages in the sales process. The AE will report progress during weekly meetings and work with a technical Sales Engineer (SE) to support technical discussions and demonstrations. This position is suited for someone that is highly relational, has urgency, is driven to get better every day, and enjoys navigating complex sales situations. Domain knowledge in enterprise systems, asset management, and the Utility industry is highly desired.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate revenue through finding, nurturing, and closing new sales opportunities to meet sales quota and objectives in assigned territory.
  • Adhere to company sales process and methodology.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with prospects and clients.
  • Leverage business partners and existing customers to support sales efforts.
  • Accurately forecast sales closing and report pipeline status to company management.
  • Call and meet with decision makers and key influencers at optimal times during the sales process.
  • Travel to perform sales calls, presentations, demonstrations, and attend tradeshows.
  • Use our CRM for real-time entry of account and opportunity information.
  • Support proposal and presentation development.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience, and prior training in sales methodologies is highly desired.
  • Domain expertise in asset intensive industries such as utilities, transportation, and telecommunications that use GIS and enterprise asset management solutions is highly desired.
  • Proven success selling enterprise software technology and exceeding a $1m annual quota.
  • Confidence in identifying, calling, and meeting with upper management decision makers including mid to C level management.
  • Ability to work independently and stay motivated is critical.
  • Familiarity with use cases involving technology such as Esri ArcGIS and Enterprise Asset Management technology from IBM, Oracle, SAP, Infor, or ABB is highly desired.
