In this role you will make immediate contributions to the organization by managing all aspects of the sales process including prospecting, lead management, qualification, customer evaluation and closing new business within the Private Equity community with the intent of driving adoption of Upwork across their investment portfolio. This is a quota carrying role where you will make a visible impact within our new PE/VC Channel.  We are seeking individuals who have a passion for hunting new business, building relationships, are detail oriented and have a ‘builder’ mentality. This role will work with cross-functional partners internally, allowing you the opportunity to contribute to the channel sales strategies. In addition, you will also learn and become proficient in the inner workings of the Private Equity industry.

Your Responsibilities:

  • An Enterprise Account Executive is assigned to strategic Private Equity accounts and their respective portfolio companies
  • Demonstrate a strong business case for Upwork Enterprise through a consultative and value driven sales process
  • Meet and exceed your sales goals through prospecting, qualifying, managing, closing new sales opportunities and leading contract negotiations
  • Identify, prioritize, and track progress towards key account metrics and annual quota.
  • Works closely with Director of Channel Sales and Channel Sales members  to drive sales results within this specialized field of portfolio companies.

What it takes to catch our eye:

  • Strong career progression in outbound sales or business development experience preferred
  • Moderate understanding of Private Equity, Venture Capital, M&A & Investment Banking (existing network is a plus) 
  • Strategic and creative thinking that enables you to understand industry and customer trends and apply those insights to deliver business results
  • Have showcased success (metrics) in an earlier role; Proven track record of over achievement of sales quota; and experience working with Enterprise clients (experience working PE/VC backed companies is plus)
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, and presentation) and interpersonal skills (outgoing and personable) Intelligent, motivated and competitive with a “roll-up-the-sleeves” and “get the job done” attitude
