The Account Director leads the team as the steward of people and business goals. They are responsible for managing short- and long-term goals of the business (internal and external) and for the people on who run it.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Have a deep understanding of Client business and structure and can articulate challenges and opportunities to Agency leadership; Able to get savvy quickly and stay abreast of business trends impacting multiple industries
- Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to read the room and effectively adapt to many different types of personalities and levels of seniority
- Are able to form trusted Client relationships
- Provide high-level business/category context to arm the team with relevant knowledge to lead the work to success
- Easily identify opportunities for incremental projects and assignments with the agency's goals in mind, while still solving a Client problem
- Understand how to creatively solve business challenges and champion work that will best deliver success
- Consistently demonstrate an analytical mindset to ensure relevant measurement plans are in place and campaigns are performing against them
- Willing to tactfully challenge the norms and have the tough conversations
- Able to quickly identify client needs and translate into a project scope document that outlines project purpose, services, deliverables and associated costs; proven ability to manage to scope
- Identify resources needed to effectively execute the scope and can articulate rationale and partner with resourcing team on creative business solutions that drive both quality work and efficiency/profitability
- Manage hours and financials of the Client business, understanding pacing and profitability
- Motivate and inspire high performance by modeling leadership
- Are aware of the health of the team at all times and will advocate on their behalf
- Delegate (not micromanage) and ensure team is supported and set up for success
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Facility to navigate the push and pull of Client and Agency goals to find the balance and success for both
- Deep working knowledge of all Agency disciplines
- Proven ability to develop cross-department partnerships for the benefit of the team and the work
- Builder of compelling and high-quality presentation content that influences the audience and results in selling the agency's recommendation

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) required
- 10+ years of Agency experience
- Proven history of exceptional performance in previous account management roles
- Proven track record of developing high-performing talent
