Intern/Co-opJob Summary:The Sales Intern will be responsible for leading assigned projects and will take on a developmental role within the customer support team by assisting team members in solving customer issues relating to Order Fulfillment, Shipping and Logistics. This role will provide opportunities to collaborate with a wide variety of departments to get a broad exposure to CF’s business and processes. A successful Sales Intern will proactively complete assigned projects while also helping the Customer Support Team ensure customer orders are shipped on time and with correct information/documentation. They will become well-versed in all aspects of CF’s business but primarily focus on Sales, Operations and Logistics. The incumbent will be engaged and learn a cross functional view of our CF processes, production capabilities, industry trends, and information about our products and markets.Job Description:Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Sales Manager and Customer Support Manager(s) who will provide mentorship throughout the internship
- Create and aid in the development of Sales presentations and customer proposals
- Assist with the development, testing and deployment of new Sales IT issues including reports, sales processes, and customer portal enhancements
- Conduct research, identify business opportunities, and help generate sales leads
- Network with key decision-makers within the company
- Support all standard Account Specialist responsibilities as necessary:
- Complete all required duties: contract maintenance, order creation, delivery schedules, billing adjustments, and any other tasks as needed
- Maintain thorough and consistent communication with internal and external customers to ensure all needs are met, ranging from timely shipment to day-to-day inquiries
- Use internal systems/databases to create orders, issue credits/debits, inventory adjustments, assemble proper backup documentation, and review customer data as needed
- Opportunities to travel to meet with customers, visit production facilities, and storage terminals
Requirements
- Student must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in an area of business or agriculture with proven academic success; a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Well-developed communication skills for internal and external relations
- Effective at managing time, recognizing the urgency to meet deadlines and customer schedules
- Good organization, administrative, and task management skills
- Demonstrate strong problem resolution and analytical skills. Must be able to exercise independent judgment within established guidelines
- Familiar with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to learn and navigate a variety of computer systems including SAP and Salesforce
- Familiarity with fertilizer/chemical industry, supply chain, or logistics is a plus, but not required
- Ability to add to the CF culture in which everyone strives to succeed
