Sales Engineer (Multiple Openings)
Responsibilities:
The Sales Engineer will develop and maintain technical expertise in SEL electric power system equipment, technology, and innovations to link and market the company’s solutions to customers’ technical needs. The Sales Engineer will apply the principles of electrical and computer engineering to: 1) extensively interact and collaborate with other Sales Engineers, company representatives, intercompany divisions and customers to understand customer requirements, provide guidance on customer expectations, gain knowledge of industry pricing strategies to set competitive prices, craft sales pitches, strategies, and opportunities, and convert customers from competitive products to SEL products; 2) actively identify and pursue customer prospects and build strong customer relationships by visiting customer sites, understanding customers unique needs and requirements, and educating customers on SEL’s technology and innovations; 3) develop initial project scope, prepare and present comprehensive product proposals and demonstrations, answer technical questions, and deliver optimal customized SEL solutions to customers; 4) contribute to attainment of sales targets, provide insight into industry, competitor and customer trends, and identify emerging trends and untapped market segments to expand customer base; and 5) provide ongoing sales and post-sales support and troubleshooting to maintain customer satisfaction.
TRAVEL:
These full-time positions will be based out of SEL’s field office in Lewis Center, Ohio. Because the company has numerous customers nationwide, some travel is required, as the incumbent will occasionally and on a short-term basis be deployed to various customer sites. Candidates must therefore be willing to travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the United States on an ongoing basis. However, the position requires regular on-site work at the Lewis Center field office and does not permit remote work or work-from-home arrangements, notwithstanding any required business travel to customer sites.
