Summary:
The Sales Compensation Manager will lead day-to-day sales compensation administration activities including implementation, administration, communication, monitoring, and reporting of commission or quota-based compensation plans across the organization globally. The role collaborates regularly with Sales, Sales Operations team, Finance, and other cross-functional teams and leadership.
The Sales Compensation Manager participates in sales plan design, sales commission analysis, and data analytics. This role is responsible for supporting DFIN in implementing, administering, and reporting on sales compensation programs for sales personnel for a global organization. The role reports to the Head of Sales Compensation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day activities of the Sales Compensation Team including implementation, administration, communication, monitoring, and reporting of commission and quota-based compensation plans.
- Performs data modelling and analytics related to sales commission/incentive programs, effectiveness, costing, and projections.
- Oversees regular commission payment calculations, ensuring accurate and on time monthly, quarterly, and annual payments.
- Performing regular audits to ensure data integrity between systems and tools.
- Performs and supervises expense accrual calculations for proper forecasting of all commission and quota-based payments throughout the year and at year end; supports accounting, audit and finance staff on inquiries related to Sales Compensation payments
- Prepares communications related to administration guidelines, deadlines, etc. in conjunction with Communications Team.
- Prepares scorecards and reports for sales leadership and executive teams.
- Supports activities related to sales plan governance, exception management, profitability, and progress towards strategic objectives.
- Identifies, researches, and provides recommendations for sales compensation-related inquiries in a timely manner.
- Assists with preparation of data related to participation in compensation benchmarking/surveys.
- Provides support in selecting, developing, and/or implementing process/technology enhancements related to global sales incentives.
- Will supervise junior Sales Compensation staff.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in the field of sales incentive compensation/total rewards or related analytical role.
- Strong expertise working with large, disparate data sets
- Experience leading junior analyst level staff
- Experience analyzing benchmark/performance data.
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills, problem solving skills, and strong track record of supporting data analytics required.
- Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and possess written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workloads, and make necessary adjustments to meet business needs.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with a positive and proactive attitude.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent
- Experience with data analytics and sales technology platforms like salesforce.com.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with Senior Management
