Capital One is seeking a Senior Associate that will be apart of a cross-functional project team designed to deliver against corporate initiatives for a line of business. The key responsibilities will be associated with the implementation of corporate initiatives that have impacts to Finance systems and processes. The Senior Associate will possess strong accounting knowledge, balance sheet reconciliation, and be comfortable working with multiple applications and platforms. The associate will also be expected to understand upstream and downstream processes that will impact Finance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support Card Accounting on cross functional project team dealing directly with the business, technology, and vendors.
- Provide input to impact assessment to proposed projects with a wide financial lens on multiple platforms and applications.
- Execute requirements and solutions that support projects and accounting objectives within the specified timeframes.
- Provide input to risk assessments with mitigation plans that include test strategies.
- Perform test execution based on strategies with ability to adapt easily to changing circumstances.
- Present and document project progress to key project stakeholders.
- Create, maintain, and update project artifacts such as process flows
- Able to identify process improvements and lead change where applicable
- Provide support to production teams, BAU, as projects are launched by setting up post monitoring plans, and working with BAU on updates to procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors' degree or military experience
- At least 1 year of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, or finance, or a combination
- At least 1 year of experience with Google Office or Microsoft Office products, or a combination
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years accounting or finance experience
- Project management experience
- Strong knowledge of financial statements and reconciliation practices
- MS Office software proficient - Excel, PowerPoint, VISIO/GSuite (Preferred)
- PeopleSoft application experience
- Reconciliation system experience (ReconPlus Preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, and collaboration skills
- Self-starter with an ability to take a proactive approach
- Agile methodology experience
