Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Resident Engineer – Wet Services to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of wet services systems in various construction projects throughout the region.

  • Develop and review comprehensive wet services engineering designs, including plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems
  • Ensure strict compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards in the UAE
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to seamlessly integrate wet services systems into overall project designs
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor installation progress and maintain the highest quality standards for wet services systems
  • Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to wet services on construction sites
  • Prepare and review detailed technical reports, specifications, and drawings
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet organizational goals
  • Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
  • Stay at the forefront of the latest technologies and best practices in wet services engineering
  • Implement innovative and sustainable design solutions in wet services projects
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations on all project sites

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in wet services engineering, with a focus on plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
  • Proven experience in construction site supervision and project management
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE building codes and regulations related to wet services
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Thorough familiarity with construction industry practices in the UAE
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites within Abu Dhabi and the surrounding areas
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices in wet services engineering
  • Health and safety certification (e.g., OSHA or equivalent)
  • Adaptability to changing project requirements and innovative thinking in problem-solving
