The R&D Project Manager leads cross-functional teams in the successful execution of new product introduction (NPI) programs, from concept through release to manufacturing. This role ensures that new products are developed efficiently, cost-effectively, and with first-pass success during production launch. The position offers visibility across global R&D teams and plays a key role in accelerating time-to-market for next-generation power and energy conversion solutions used in AI datacenters, telecom, and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead NPI projects through all phases — concept, design, validation, and release — using the company’s structured NPI process.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed project schedules in collaboration with engineering, operations, and supply-chain teams.
  • Coordinate prototype builds with internal factories and contract manufacturers.
  • Conduct technical and business gate reviews; ensure all NPI deliverables, documentation, and checklists are completed in accordance with quality and compliance requirements.
  • Drive project change management, risk mitigation, and issue resolution to maintain alignment with goals and timelines.
  • Track and report progress versus targets for cost, schedule, performance, and risk.
  • Provide clear and timely project status updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Facilitate smooth hand-off of completed projects to manufacturing and sustaining teams to ensure continuity and production readiness.
  • Serve as the primary communication link among cross-functional stakeholders, promoting transparency and accountability.
  • Foster continuous improvement in project execution by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in technical project management within R&D or product development.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams to deliver complex technical products on schedule and within budget.
  • Leadership experience managing NPI or product development programs, preferably in power electronics, electromechanical systems, or high-reliability products.
  • PMP or equivalent Project Management certification.
  • Agile / Scrum Master certification or experience managing hybrid project approaches.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience using PLM systems (e.g., Windchill) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Familiarity with engineering and manufacturing processes related to power electronics and system integration.
  • Strong facilitation and leadership presence; capable of balancing multiple priorities and driving accountability to meet business objectives.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence across organizational boundaries.
