The Quality Assurance Specialist II – Quarantine position is responsible for auditing the products and processes at various points in the areas of production and packaging to ensure adherence to company quality standards. The Quality Assurance Specialist II – Quarantine position will be responsible for communicating any deviations to management. Assist the Quality Assurance team with special projects as required. Comply with SQF, Food Safety Plan (HACCP), Food Quality Plan (FQP) standards. This is a Monday - Friday 6 am - 4:30 pm shift.

The Role  

  • Support Quarantine I Specialist with sampling inbound raw materials and packaging materials. Support audits, gathering and review of documents. Support completing testing of raw materials and packaging materials.

  • Report any deviations to Sr. Quality Specialist in complete appropriate details.

  • Assist in overseeing and facilitating raw material quarantine release process including initiation, tracking, trending and closure of OOS and raw material supplier investigations.

  • Creation, generation and maintenance of controlled documents. May author other types of quality system documents as directed or assigned by QA management.

  • Execute vendor non-conformance process. Document all areas of non-compliance and ensure corrective action to eliminate them;

  • Comply with SQF, Food Safety Plan (HACCP), Food Quality Plan (FQP) standards. Responsible for ensuring compliance to FDA and cGMP standards for Quality Control, including continuous training.

  • Responsible for ensuring Dietary Supplement’s Identity, Purity, Strength and Quality. Ensures accurate and timely completion of all tasks.

  • Participate in all necessary training is required to successfully perform job responsibilities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

  • High School Diploma required. BS in Food Science or related major is preferred.

  • 1+ years of experience in analytical laboratory and/or in a food or dietary supplement manufacturing, QA or QC environment is required.

  • HACCP, PCQI or equivalent certifications preferred.

  • GMP experience preferred.
