Job Description
Summary
We are looking for a Quality Assurance & Hygiene Specialist who will play a vital role in developing and managing quality systems on site.
Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining equipment calibration as per the site requirements and coordinate site calibration activities
  • Implementation and administration of incoming ingredient sampling and testing programme.
  • Incoming ingredients responsibility - supplier complaints if necessary
  • Conduct internal audits and other performance monitoring programs as required.
  • Participate in and organise timetable for internal audits and Performance Monitoring reporting and trend tracking
  • Ensure Non-Conforming Product is held and decision made on disposition of product by appropriate personnel
  • Non-conforming product investigation and reporting
  • Develop an understanding of the causes and variability of product test results in a manufacturing environment.
  • Customer Complaints investigation and reporting
  • Carry out responsibilities as identified in the documented management system (SOP's, Approved Programs, HACCP, etc.)
  • Validation of CCPs including thermal validations
  • Oversee site cleaning and sanitation, pest control activities
  • Development, documentation, implementation and optimization of sanitation processes, procedures, and practices in the factory.


About You

  • Experience in HACCP based food safety plans and accredited quality management systems (e.g., BRC, SQF etc.)
  • Experience in ERP system
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a food manufacturing role, preferably low acid foods
  • Exposure to Organic/ Vegan product certification and Department of Agriculture Audits
  • Self-motivated, with flexibility to accommodate cleaning and production schedules
  • Six-sigma or Lean Manufacturing exposure
  • Tertiary qualification Food Technology, or a related field
  • Experience in low acid thermal processing technology
