Backed by a team of passionate and intelligent Figmates, with a 100% remote-first global presence across 12 countries, our company is on a mission to accelerate the adoption, growth, and long-term success of the Web3 ecosystem. We’re building the infrastructure that will power the decentralized future.

As a fast-growing tech company, we’re looking for builders and innovators — people who thrive in the face of uncertainty and are motivated to make an impact. We are also looking for true teammates - people who are genuine, humble, and driven to level up together. If you're excited to shape the future, contribute to an energetic company culture, and work at the cutting edge of blockchain technology, we want you to join our team and help us lead the charge!

About the opportunity

We are seeking an Associate Protocol Specialist to help support and grow our staking business division. Candidates should have a deep curiosity about the potential of blockchain, but do not need to be an expert on the subject - we are looking for someone who is curiously-minded and has recently left the

This is a full-time remote first position. Figment has over 100 employees, speaking 7 native languages, and are located across North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Preference for location is Western Hemisphere due to the client-facing nature of role (between PST and EST time zones).

The protocol expertise you will develop supports our internal teams, including dev-ops, sales, and marketing. As a fast-growing startup company, it's critical that you are comfortable working in a (relatively) unstructured environment, dealing with uncertainty, minimal direction, and working across a range of projects and functional areas between departments.

How you will make an impact
  • Develop a surface level understanding of all supported protocols (enough to be dangerous) and an in-depth knowledge of a select few protocols (e.g. Polkadot / NEAR / etc)
  • Maintain protocol information and awareness of current and upcoming events, including: tracking upgrades, governance proposals, and various communication channels to ensure our customers and internal teams have timely updates on all critical protocol changes.
  • Help lead internal and external knowledge-share discussions surrounding developments on supported protocols and how they relate to Figment's work as a staking provider.
  • Publish guides, introductions, updates, and original analysis to support Figment's content marketing strategy and the needs of our institutional clients, retail customers, and protocol communities.
  • Occasionally identify strategic business, investment, and technology opportunities through engaging with protocol teams, as well as conducting independent research and analysis.
  • Provide support to sales and customer success functions as an escalation path for knowledge not covered by internal knowledge sources.
What you bring to the team
  • CS degree or equivalent domain experience desired.
    • Possessing 1-4 years in a similar research role is preferred, but not required.
  • Attention to detail along with strong written and verbal communication skills. Presentation skills and ability to lead video calls.
  • Personable and comfortable communicating with others across teams and platforms on a regular basis - high EQ.
  • Demonstrable academic excellence (in any discipline, though Math, Computer Science, Economics, or Game Theory would be highly preferred), and high energy, interest, and desire to learn and conviction about blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.
  • Previous experience in crypto/blockchain is a bonus, or alternatively, being highly crypto curious and ready to dive head-first into the space.
  • Organized with an emphasis on documentation and note-taking.
  • Published articles, blogs, content on relevant subject matter, or a demonstrable desire to do so.

  • We aim for the entire process to take around 2-4 weeks from initial screen to offer. There can be exceptions on either side of the bell curve here, but as a rule, that’s the time-frame you can expect.

What We Do

Figment: Building Web 3

Figment’s purpose is to build a better Internet by increasing usage of the next generation of Proof of Stake blockchains.

These efficient blockchains give people greater control of their data, more privacy, and increase financial inclusion. By eliminating intermediaries they also limit the power of centralized data monopolies, rent seeking financial institutions and anti-social algorithms.

We bring our mission to reality by helping investors stake their tokens; earn yield and participate in securing the blockchain. Our Hubble and Prime applications as well as our governance expertise allow token holders to analyze, monitor and make informed decisions. We build Web 3 developer communities via our Learn education program and then make it simple for these developers to launch applications and manage smart contracts via our DataHub platform. And finally by building and operating The Graph based indexers we enable the efficient search and querying of blockchain data.
