WPP are underway with a significant programme of technology-enabled change across our Finance, Professional Services and People function and this role will be instrumental in ensuring that our programme is understood, welcomed, and enthusiastically adopted through the business as we progress.

Workday @Scale is a large-scale programme that will replace some of our core technology and also influence the ways of working for many of our colleagues at WPP. This flagship programme will see Workday deployed across our global landscape to address the technology needs of Finance, Projects and our People function – so essentially it touches all of our employees to some degree. The key to this programme is that data is an enabler for our transformation and is the backbone of our technology deployment.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the build and management of the Workday Data Management Platform. This platform will serve as the hub of conversion and migration of data from over 300 legacy ERPs to Workday. You will use your understanding of concepts of data management and data architecture to manage the development of a world class data platform. In your role, you are expected to collaborate with a multiple teams including the Workday programme leadership, the Workday data team, enterprise architecture, and vendor partners.

What you'll be doing:

•         Develop a detailed project management and release plan for the data platform, with deliverables and milestones. Identify the critical path and activities of the project.

•         Identify and document risks associated with the program and devise mitigation strategies to manage these risks.

•         Manage communication and status reporting with programme leadership and stakeholders.

•         Collaborate and collaborate with cross disciplinary teams including data architects and product owners to manage schedules, deadlines and deliverables.

•         Maintain and manage requirements traceability to ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are developed and tested.

•         Work with product owners to prioritize features and finalize release plans,

•         Work with Workday implementation teams to identify and provision data for testing.

What you'll need:

  • Experience in leading data management or data platform initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of data management and data architecture principles and concepts.
  • Background in large data conversion projects, with multiple data sources from varying data models utilizing SAP/Oracle/Workday/similar as target
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills – to present data concepts in a meaningful way
  • Experience in managing remote
  • Confidence in challenging situations, able to inform senior management and work under pressure
  • Dogged, determined and attention to detail essential
