Prologis is seeking a VP Project Management for our Atlanta and Charlotte markets. This officer position takes responsibility for managing development activities for land and building developments including land due diligence, entitlement, design and construction of industrial / warehouse facilities (both speculative and buildtosuit).

In addition to managing key projects, this person will manage and coach a team of project management professionals ensuring proper staffing to manage forecasted development activity, providing cost and budget information for investment memos, managing the technical side of the entitlement process as well as optimizing designs and contractor bidding. Key success factors include the active mentoring and management of a best-in-class development team, partnering with local deployment team, enabling excellent communication with regional stakeholders, and innovation and implementation of development best practices.

The position requires a high degree of energy, enthusiasm, outgoing personality, technical competence and professionalism. The position will reside in our Atlanta office and interact daily with Prologis development, deployment and leasing teams and report to the SVP, Regional Project Management.

What’s needed in order to do that:

  • Manage and coach the local Prologis project management team across performance, staffing and growth.
  • Lead BTS and land pursuits in collaboration with Capital Deployment and Regional PM.
  • Manage your development portfolio performance (cost, schedule, quality, safety).
  • Accountable for ongoing innovation and initiatives.
  • Drive impact of lean construction, GC bid negotiations and design optimization against targets.
  • Develop and own relationships with GCs.
  • Demonstrate mastery of lean construction, GC bid negotiations and design optimization initiatives.

Tell us if you’re ready.

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering (Civil or Structural).
  • Ten years of experience working in the field of land development or construction management. If education is strictly in engineering, architecture or real estate development, applicant should have a minimum of three concurrent years’ experience working on construction projects. Project management experience with a general contractor or owners representative is preferred.
  • Experience championing a project from acquisition through due diligence, entitlements and permitting.
  • Additional experience on design/build projects is preferred but not required.
  • Promote the Prologis brand with enthusiasm.

  • Be self‐motivated and have the ability to multi‐task and prioritize with minimal direction.
  • Be enthusiastic, maintain a positive attitude, be a good team player and customer service oriented.
  • Maintain computer proficiency: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project, Google Earth, Adobe Acrobat.
  • Display excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be proactive in approaching solutions and problem solving.
  • Work and manage a team well under pressure.
  • Be able to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Promote a positive, can do attitude with a real focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
