Job Summary:Disney+ is the Disney-branded streaming service featuring an outstanding collection of content from its brands and franchises recognized and respected all over the world including Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Disney, and NatGeo. Hulu is a premium streaming service that offers premium originals, current season TV, an extensive library of hit series and movies, and live television. Our combined Hulu and Disney team is looking for hardworking team-players to join the Media Engineering team, who will thrive upon the legacy of Disney and Hulu, embrace unconventional thinking, and who are passionate about contributing to The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) experience through strategic hard work and determination. Media Engineering works on building out the scalable distributed systems for processing, monitoring and playing back the media that is core to our products.
Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and effectively execute software development iterations throughout the life of project(s)
  • Plan and own internal and external project communications, ensuring effective, regular, exchange of project status and deliverables
  • Identify, analyze, prioritize, mitigate and communicate project risks to internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead technical feasibility, implementation approach, deployment strategies, and QA efforts
  • Work with project stakeholders to define scope and objectives, communicating requirements to development teams
  • Act as voice of engineering workstream amongst internal and third-party groups
  • Continue to improve project management process, communication protocols and operational procedures related to effective, on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Work closely with internal business, product and client management teams to effectively communicate technical goals, advancements and risks


Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a project manager, of which at least 2 was in an agile environment (software engineering experience is ideal)
  • Have demonstrable experience defining and refining process
  • In depth knowledge and practical experience with the software development life cycle
  • Practical and personable, with a succinct communication style
  • Ability to function as a liaison between business and engineering teams
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects of moderate to high technical complexity
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, flexible availability environment


Required Education

  • BA or BS or equivalent experience demonstrating a strong understanding of software development and infrastructure
