Job Description:
The bank currently files over 3800 Non-Financial Regulatory Reports (NFRR) across the globe covering approximately 1500 regulations. The information provided in non-financial regulatory report (NFRR) differs from a traditional regulatory financial reporting where focus of NFRR is to identify an issue when it occurs and to determine the pervasiveness of the issue in order to provide transparency in the management and operations of a bank that are not quantitatively measured through financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and supplemental schedules. Majority of the NFRR generation process is highly fragmented potentially causing inefficiencies in the reporting process.
Given the heightened scrutiny by regulators across the globe in particular around regulatory reporting, banks need to demonstrate capabilities that information provided to regulators is complete and accurate. Increasingly, regulators are expecting banking institutions to have a sound process and control environment, correct data sourcing, visibility into front-to-back data flow, understanding of data transformation, consistent data quality routines and controls, and comprehensive testing and validation across various lines of defense.
To achieve regulatory and operational efficiency given the facts above, the NFRR program commenced in early 2017 and in conjunction with front line units and control functions, metadata for complex reports was captured. The exercise provided an invaluable insight into developing a reporting, data and technology architecture aligned with the future data driven operating model. This data driven operating model transitions the NFRR methods from a number of fragmented processes and disjointed data and technologies to a sustainable, controlled, efficient and faster time to market NFRR data, technology, and reporting environment.
