With our global workforce we have fine-tuned asynchronous working which means we have a lot of flexibility in the structure of when we work and how we work together.
We value downtime to recharge and reset, ensuring everyone at ConsenSys has work/life balance. Having unlimited vacation is an amazing offering, however, there has been bad press around it where studies show employees end up taking less vacation, especially in regions where there are limited or no minimums like the US, Canada etc. To address this we encourage our employees to take a minimum of 3 weeks of vacation per year. On top of that, employees can take unlimited additional time off.

ConsenSys also organizes “Productivity Zero”. These are days employees can choose to take off (not included as PTO) to take a break from work, shut down, and sit back and relax. Employees get 1 week off in August, 2 weeks in December for the end of year slow down period, and 2 Mondays per quarter. This adds up to 4 weeks! Are you still counting? That’s already a minimum of 7 weeks per year! ;)
Every other Wednesday, we have a “Productivity 10x Days”. On these days, we cancel all internal meetings and rely on async communication channels such as Slack and email. This is to allow employees time to focus on projects they have been working on, tick off those open items on their to do lists and be 10x more productive. This applies to internal company meetings only and we leave it up to the discretion of our employees if they would like to continue meetings with external clients and vendors.
Full-time employees get an annual bonus. Employees also have the ability to level up, which will increase their bonus pay out.
Cool blockchain projects:
As if that wasn’t enough, ConsenSys also organizes different blockchain projects across our ecosystem from awesome NFT drops for our employees to designated DAO days to give people time to contribute on DAO projects outside of ConsenSys. We’re a blockchain company after all ;)
We run an annual org-wide Internal Hackathon. This includes a series of events, an internal hackathon and a workshop series to promote company culture, cross-pollinate ideas between ConsenSys products/projects and colleagues, and open up new ideas for the ecosystem. It’s also an opportunity for employees to build something with their colleagues, learn something new, and explore different aspects of ConsenSys they wouldn’t normally work with on a daily basis.
DAO Days are allocated for all employees to learn and find a comfort level with becoming a contributing member of a DAO. ConsenSys encourages our employees to volunteer in DAOs as part of our leadership in the Web3 space. It furthers our mission to advance the new economic age of trust-based engagement in decentralized digital technologies.
We define and understand wellness holistically, made up of different dimensions such as emotional, physical, social etc. When these dimensions or parts of these dimensions are fed and balanced, it can lead to feelings of wellness. We aim to achieve this through a range of initiatives.
One example was our wellness program, we ran an experiential series that gave employees the opportunity to learn and practice different types of mindful activities, ranging from chi gong to burnout prevention. These events are available for employees to go back and listen to at anytime. We run activations like this every quarter around a different theme to help cultivate community and ensure everyone feels a sense of belonging at ConsenSys.
As we are a remote-first company all of our employees also get a laptop, ensuring they can comfortably work from anywhere they like.
Although we are a remote-first company we offer global co-working passes for those who are not in a city with a ConsenSys office.

We leave regional holidays to be taken up to the discretion of the individual. As we are a global business there are hundreds of holidays throughout the year, all we ask is that employees communicate with their teams when they are observing.
