Job Overview

The technical program manager is supporting the functional teams to develop production hardware for AV trucks.The HW TPM is responsible in managing project timeline and resources and lead the product development team in the definition of requirements, execution of design, and planning of analysis, development, & testing of electronic controls modules and other hardware electronic products. Provides technical direction to coordinates between engineering and technician for vehicle bring up and retrofit.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules for hardware electronic products. 
  • Lead system engineering, mechanical and electrical design teams to define hardware component requirements 
  • Lead project kick-off and close out activities. Outlines, documents and shares lessons-learned.
  • Set a project's strategic plan based on the program or functional team's strategic objectives. Clearly defines and sets project objectives, KPIs, and scope. Cascades strategy, objectives and KPIs to project stakeholders, ensuring all project staff understand their roles, responsibilities and individual impact in meeting project objectives.
  • Interface with tier-1 suppliers and vendors and manage progress. 
  • Conduct reviewing DFMEAs and other functional safety products for all parts / design changes.
  • Conduct technical design reviews for schematic, layout, and CAD drawing reviews.
  • Demonstrate designs meet requirements by analysis, development, and validation.
  • Lead engineers to bring problem resolution and tracking system issues to completion.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, computer science or related engineering degree.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Good understanding of Project Management tools and processes.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, MS Project / Smartsheets, and/or other PM tools.
  • Experience in hardware/software product development cycle (Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Maintenance) of automotive electronics systems along with automotive grade system requirements.
  • Experience with either electromechanical components design and/or testing.
  • Green/Black belt certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with sometimes incomplete requirements
  • High level of analytical problem-solving skills where problems are unusual and difficult
  • High level of interest and a strong understanding of system level design / integration.
