The Role

As a Technical Program Manager at Slync, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. In this role, you will lead multi-disciplinary engineering programs using your software program management expertise. You'll guide programs through the design process by ushering projects through the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Act as expert and trusted advisor for all internal product lifecycle and business processes
  • Drive clear decision making (process, tools and facilitation) required to balance risk, effort and timelines
  • Drive planning and execution with initiative owners
  • Help design & roll out internal process workflows and metrics
  • Lead and implement process improvements (change management) while managing active projects
  • Provide guidance and coaching to help teams understand and follow best practices
  • Ensure proper data collection and monitoring tools and dashboards are in place
  • Manage efforts across the cross-functional landscape in the company, starting with the commercial deal all the way through the delivery of the solution to the customer, connecting all the dots from concept to market. (Sales -> Customer Success -> Solutions Team -> Product Management -> Engineering
  • Facilitate the development of collaborative cross-team dependency solutions
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Work with product owners to break down and organize work into an effective plan
  • Ensure visibility of work and its status in our systems of record
  • Proactively identify and track risks and mitigations
  • Conduct retrospectives and gather feedback and data on program success metrics
  • Ensure appropriate, regular cadence of communication across all stakeholders
  • Guide timely escalation and/or negotiation up the chain when needed

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years experience managing technical, complex initiatives & projects from initiation to completion at an enterprise SaaS/PaaS organization
  • Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment to manage issue resolutions.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and organize your work and the work of others in a highly dynamic environment
  • Ability to execute and manage performance and expectations within a cross-functional, matrix management environment
  • Experience practicing principles of Lean and Agile and how to blend with traditional project management best practices
  • Experience overcoming the difficulties of managing projects with remote and global team members
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to perform business / systems analysis to assist with process solutions

 Preferred qualifications

  • PMP and/or Six Sigma certification or experience. Experience working on process/operational optimization
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Ability to identify problems and issues across organizations and create programs and processes to solve them.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to create strategic, data-driven recommendations.
