Job DescriptionNordstrom’s Infrastructure Services organization is seeking a Technical Program Manager to enable the delivery of strategic initiatives relating to the next generation of infrastructure supporting Nordstrom’s catalog of applications. The Infrastructure Services organization works to empower engineering teams in meeting their objectives through providing highly available, scalable, manageable infrastructure governed by an established set of compliance and security guidelines. The primary charter of this team is to help increase velocity of our engineering teams by applying agile, frictionless and platform mindsets.

You will work alongside talented engineers, implement execution of strategic business initiatives, set the pace of execution, foster a culture of operational excellence, drive alignment among other program managers and teams, while maintaining clarity of focus on accountabilities, commitments, deliverables and priorities.
A day in the life…
Engaging teams of engineers through the entire program lifecycle, synthesizing requirements, defining scope, schedule and resourcing needs
Organizing workstreams into logical groupings enabling teams to deliver early and often, and measuring progress toward achieving departmental strategies, programs and initiatives
Ensuring your teams have tools, resources, and support needed to be successful while anticipating trade-offs and balancing business needs with resourcing and technology constraints
Navigating within an agile, highly dynamic, priority influenced environment
Managing customer expectations while establishing and maintaining clear accountabilities, ensuring clarity of commitments, deliverables and priorities
Leveraging agile methodologies evolving solutions through collaboration between self-organizing cross-functional teams
Contributing to program management methodologies and best practices
Focusing on continuous improvement methodologies quantifying impacts, eliminating waste, increasing productivity, iterating quickly, and shortening feedback loops
Working closely with other Infrastructure & Security Services teams in coordinating delivery of strategic priorities

You own this if you have
Demonstrated track record (5+ years) program management experience in the design, implementation and operations of large-scale technology services
Progressive track record demonstrating growth of expertise in successfully delivering complex technology services
Demonstrated strong business acumen, experienced at developing and maintaining partnerships with technology & business associates
Expertise leveraging data and tools facilitating effective presentations, and impactful reporting material
Ability to clearly communicate, articulate concepts, and engage in interactive dialogue across all levels of the organization
Passion and ability to thrive working in a dynamic priority informed environment that emphasizes agile methodologies
Willingness to engage and collaborate across all skill and experience levels as well as organizational boundaries to get stuff done.
Affinity for using data driven processes applied to quantitative decision making, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and self-directed analysis
BA/BS in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
High energy and positive attitude
Scrum Master or Agile Development experience
Independent entrepreneurial spirit
Resourceful problem solver passionate about continuous improvement
Familiarity with core infrastructure services (compute, storage and virtualization)
Proficiency with program management and/or product management tools
Thorough understanding of engineering processes and methodologies
Maturity of negotiating, influencing and leadership skills
