The Federal program team’s mission is to strengthen Okta’s position as the leading Identity-as-a-Service solution through a security-first approach in the public sector.  We are looking for someone with a strong TPM background that will drive key federal program project initiatives. The right candidate will have experience in all facets of project management from project inception to project completion with a focus on status reporting at all levels of the organization.  As the Technical Program Manager on our federal program team, you will assist in driving federal program initiatives by engaging various process owners, across the organization,  in the design, documentation, and implementation of the federal program initiatives in our federal environments, enabling Okta to demonstrate these initiatives (and their progress) to external stakeholders.  In addition, you will be responsible for developing communications, reporting, metrics, dashboards, and wikis to demonstrate the progress of the Federal Program. 

The ideal candidate will have experience collaborating in a cloud-based environment across various teams that include development, operations, security, etc. to obtain buy-in on and drive execution of tasks within their scope as control owners to meet desired goals. This position requires strong communication skills and experience tailoring various types of communication to meet the needs of the intended audience. Experience with FedRAMP and government agency requirements for cloud service providers is a plus.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist and document all Federal Program initiatives across the organization. 
  • Assist the Federal Portfolio Manager with program status reporting across all stakeholder groups (executives, external, and internal work teams).
  • Develop and distribute monthly program communications to create awareness of upcoming activities and program progress.
  • Develop and maintain metrics and dashboards to report on the status of the program and it’s cross functional roadmaps.
  • Maintain Federal Program wiki structure to drive communication and education across Okta.
  • Work with process and control owners to help them understand the federal requirements.
  • Collaborate across Okta to drive transparency of the Federal program and it’s work.
  • As needed, develop appropriate federal program documentation.
  • As needed, assess security impact on changes to the systems and applications

 

Minimum REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Strong Program Management experience in a cloud computing environment
  • Working knowledge of terms and concepts used in information security, privacy, risk assessments and contingency planning
  • Understanding of IT methodologies, such as software development lifecycle and operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to “think-out-of-the-box”
  • Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Able to work independently or with a team

 

Helpful Certifications / Skills:

  • Program Management Professional (PMP)
  • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
  • Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK)
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Okta
  • Technical background


Additional requirements:

  • US Person Status (e.g. a U.S. Citizen, National, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee)
  • This position requires the ability to access Impact Level 4 (IL4) data, as defined by the Department of Defense (DoD) Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide.  As a condition of employment for this position, the successful candidate must be able to submit documentation establishing U.S. Person status (e.g. a U.S. Citizen, National, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee. 22 CFR 120.15) upon hire.
