We are seeking a Staff Program Manager to join the Life Science and Laboratory Products Group (LSLPG) Data Science team. As our team grows, we are seeking individuals who want to join the fast-growing data science and analytical field. This Staff Program Manager will lead cross-functional teams to build and deploy software solutions that support our divisional partner goals. This role is essential to keeping the program on track and focused on delivering value to our business partners.

The Staff Program Manager will lead cross-functional teams to deliver new software and analytical capabilities by collaborating with developers, business partners, and subject matter experts. This role will be focused on delivering high quality solutions that drive value to the organization, within the agreed-upon program/project metrics of schedule, resources, budget and scope. The Staff Program Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and advising the management of a software development program for the organization while ensuring these projects within the program are on time, on budget, and within scope.

A day in the Life:
- Leads multiple projects at a time within the program portfolio and ensures timely and high-quality delivery of high-quality software and analytics functionality
- Builds project plans, schedules, and allocates resources as needed to meet customer requirements
- Identifies and monitors key risks and the impact of those risks on projects within the program portfolio
- Responsible for day-to-day program management of project portfolio for software capabilities
- Leads geographically distributed teams to meet and exceed customer expectations
- Applies best practices & standards of project management to deliver on commitments
- Reviews project team progress using processes, tools and other resources to ensure effective execution
- Improves processes and operating procedures in order to enhance project delivery
- Influences across organizational boundaries to deliver cross-functional, complex initiatives
Keys to Success:
Education
- Bachelor's degree required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent
Experience
- 7+ years of program, project or portfolio management experience
- 5+ years working with managing a technical program (software engineering or analytics)
- Experience defining requirements in implementing Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) tools
- Experience with implementing, improving, and scaling Agile and Scrum frameworks

- Strong presentation and organization skills
- Communicates clearly and concisely both written & verbal, to all levels of the project team
- Adapts style to accommodate diverse audiences & situations

- Ability to lead junior project/program managers
- Self-managing and self-motivating, able to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and expectations
- Demonstrates SCRUM principles, manages SCRUM ceremonies and maintains artifacts
