About the Role
Join Uber's Technical Program Management (TPM) team and be a leader in developing and driving impactful cross-org initiatives for the Rides organization. Rides at Uber is responsible for the main consumer application that provides transportation, delivery, and other Uber services for tens of millions of users and generates billions of dollars in revenue.
As the TPM, you will work closely with engineers to create developer tools and frameworks that deliver delightful developer experiences and make scaling software development easier, faster, and more reliable. You will be the voice and champion of the solutions that are crafted and drive adoption through roadshows and other interactive engagements. In addition, you will build programs for engineering to continuously improve the reliability, availability, and quality of our products.

The Uber Technical Program Management team plays a central role in completing high-impact org-wide initiatives and continuously improving processes to increase the efficiency of our product and engineering organizations.

- Provide leadership to teams as an owner for high-impact initiatives.
- Engage and energize your teams to achieve goals.
- Lead all aspects of program delivery; planning, evaluating risks, resolving dependencies, and communicating status to upper management and team members.
- Proactively remove obstacles to drive momentum, progress, and results.
- Develop and implement continuous improvements to the engineering organization and the program management process.
- Share and/or develop frameworks, tools, and methodologies that can be adopted throughout the organization.
- 5+ years as a Technical Program Manager or Engineering Manager in a high tech company.
- Strong technical experience in software development at scale.
- Core TPM skills such as:
- Cross-team and cross-functional collaboration.
- Metrics and data-driven: experience determining effective program KPIs and using them to measure and drive program success.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and implement efficiently.
- Identifying process gaps, measuring progress, and balancing engineering and product efficiency with process overhead.
- 11+ years of overall experience in the technology industry.
- Experienced with large-scale change management and implementing culture for engineering organizations.
- Previously written, tested, and deployed code.
- Built standards and frameworks adopted by large engineering organizations.
