The API Support and Service Intelligence team at Manheim is a cross-functional Operations/Software Engineering team with involvement at all phases of our application and service release lifecycle that embraces the DevOps method of communication, collaboration and integration.

The Sr. Technical Project Manager has primary responsibility for defining, planning, tracking and managing technology projects, identifying key resources and providing the direction they require to meet project objectives. The Technical Project Manager utilizes necessary resources and skills to produce project deliverables within agreed cost, timescale, and quality parameters. The Technical Project Manager plays a role in project planning, project monitoring and control, relationship management, and providing advice and guidance.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, this is a temporary work from home role but will ultimately work in the Atlanta area office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Using a Kanban board or similar system, organizes work into manageable work packages or phases and determines an effective approach to completing the work.
  • Develops estimates for effort, budget and schedule.
  • Develops a project plan that documents clear priorities among project activities.
  • Communicates a clear vision of the project's objectives and motivates the project team to achieve them.
  • Effectively coordinates the activities of the team to meet project milestones.
  • Analyzes the actual performance against the plan and make adjustments consistent with plan objectives.
  • Provides tracking and reporting of progress to plan regarding schedule.
  • Actively manages budget tracking and forecasting.
  • Proactively manages change to baselined scope, schedule and cost variables, communicating impacts and facilitating decisions.
  • Resolves issues that impact the project in a timely, effective manner.
  • Analyzes risks, establishes contingency plans, and identifies trigger events and responsibility for initiating mitigating action.
  • Manages vendor relations and procurements related to the project requirements.
  • Manages relationships with project stakeholders, both within technology and product teams.
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information to stakeholders and teams.
  • Mentors team members, external stakeholders and project management best practices.

Qualifications:

Experience & Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education
  • 5 + years of working experience in design, development, and implementation of software systems
  • Working experience managing technology projects and working with technology project management methodologies. (e.g. waterfall, agile, iterative)
  • 3+ Years working experience running multiple technology projects
  • 3+ Years working experience of and competency in project management processes, including planning tasks and allocating resources, risk management, issues management, time management, and financial management
  • PMP, CSM certification or equivalent

Preferred

  • Advanced degree in industry related subject
  • Agile Certified Professional (ACP)
