Our Opportunity:

Chewy is hiring a Carrier Manager-Middle Mile, a newly created role. This role is within the Middle Mile Transportation team and will report to the Associate Director, Regional Transportation.  This individual will be responsible for the oversight and performance of a segment of Chewy’s Middle Mile partner carriers.  You will be responsible for maintaining the carrier relationship and driving results in safety, service, capacity, and quality.

You will be successful in this role because you are passionate about problem solving, operating cross functionally, and building mutually beneficial relationships. You also excel in understanding how to find, analyze, and apply data in all your decision making.

What you will do: 

• Define carrier routes, volumes, and schedules
• Develop effective plans and actions to address operational needs and contingencies
• Communicate transportation requirements accurately to carrier partners
• Ensure necessary carrier capacity is available to support Chewy operations
• Align carrier equipment pools to sustain FC volume and prevent delays in loading
• Create flexible transportation plans that can be scaled for Peak shipping needs
• Define, track, and action carrier performance metrics
• Be able to dive deep within a process and drive improvements through carrier feedback, analyzing data, and successfully executing actions to achieve goals

What you will need: 

• 3-5 years management experience in a transportation, logistics, warehouse, or distribution center environment (degree preferred)
• Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, Zoom, High Jump, and Tableau (SQL knowledge preferred)
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate
• Position will require some travel (
