Move Management:

  • Manage all relocation activities on account or for specific projects; incorporating and creating "best practices" as possible
  • Ensure all relocation activities are performed in a manner consistent with documented processes and in accordance with the client's and JLL's policies and procedures
  • Ensure operations manual is in place and updated (on account)
  • Provide a single point of contact for all relocation project activities for client, regularly update client with updates to scope, schedule, and budget as necessary
  • Facilitate and document project meetings with internal staff and key stakeholders to ensure responsibilities are communicated and understood by all concerned.
  • Participate in planning meetings hosted by the client, Occupancy Planning and other key stakeholders
  • Develop and implement relocation project plan and budget through collaboration with the facility manager, project manager and construction manager; as required Procure and manage move labor, including vendor/contractor RFP, bidding process, evaluate proposals and recommend selection of vendor/contractor
  • Manage supporting suppliers (technology, telephony, furniture, etc.)
  • Perform data input into the CAFM system to maintain occupancy information
  • Develop and deliver required project specific reporting, and BI surveys
  • Coordinate schedule, budget and scope as necessary with various service providers (IT, VTS, Construction and Associate Relocations and Furniture Installation contractor, etc.)
  • Determine the pricing for any non-baseline work requested (i.e. construction-related needs, furniture reconfigurations, people relocations that exceed baseline parameters, etc.)
  • Provide move signage, general move directions, and be present on campus or at the move site, available to answer questions, organize move orientations, and resolve post-move issues.


Client Management:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing the detailed communication plan with client
  • Exhibit strong verbal communication skills at all levels of the client organization and across the extended project team
  • Meet or exceed client expectations by focusing on client goals and objectives and by holding the project team accountable while staying within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Identify and resolve critical client issues, or inform Team Lead/RMD when intervention is needed
  • Understand and adopt behaviors of the client culture; supervise JLL project team in following the same behavior
  • Keep client informed of project activities and seek client's cooperation and approval for implementation of any changes to the project plan
  • Provide career guidance and development for employees, including mentor recommendations, career pathing

Career and Personnel Development:

  • Participate in IPMP discussions (end of year reviews and possible merit discussions)
  • Contribute to the "skill" development of other team members; motivate the team by demonstrating how their contributions effect project outcome
  • Recommend to Team lead regarding additional training and development of personnel
  • Conduct screening calls, interviews and hiring practices
  • Participate in new employee orientation and training, including setting up hiring "buddy" and setting up shadowing opportunities


Growth:

  • Directly responsible for enhancing team revenues through the maintenance and expansion of existing client relationships and by developing new relationships and maintaining existing client relationships.
  • Functions as a subject matter expert for a specific product or service.
  • Able to communicate all available products and service offerings of JLL. Contributes to the development of new product and service delivery ideas for the business unit.
  • Understand RFP/RFQ documents, contract and proposal terminology
  • Estimate proposal pricing as it relates to man hour assignments per specific project sub-task or price whole project depending on size
  • Participate in presentation interviews, convey key points and answer potential client questions with a firm understanding of the project and the potential client
  • Participate in industry, networking, and educational events; with confidence, represent JLL's core business
  • Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.
  • Comply with all JLL policies and procedures, including but not limited to time & expenses, ethics and business practice.


Skills:

  • Proficient in FM:Systems move management module and/or facilities management system
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong Microsoft Projects skills
  • Ability to utilize the Microsoft Office suite of technologies
  • Has successfully managed relocations of over 1000 employees
  • Background in project management, construction management, architecture or project strategy planning is desirable
  • Organizational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Flexibility with work hours and travel as needed
  • Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently
  • Strong working knowledge of architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients

  • Ability to manage all aspects of move management projects effectively and efficiently including, but not limited to Budgeting, Scheduling and Change orders
  • Previous experience effectively supervising, training, mentoring and evaluating several Relocation Managers at various levels within the organization/team
  • Capacity to deal with ambiguity and address complex problems
  • Position may work primarily at client site or project location with potential daily client and contractor interaction.
  • Face to face and/or remote daily interpersonal interaction is usually required in order to perform the job.


Other:

  • Travel as needed and may range from 0-4 nights per week.
  • Up to $5M : The size of the project dictates the expense responsibility. SMM may have less $1m on some projects and more than $1m on others.

  • Large Project, Single or Multiple Function
  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution, preferred in Accounting, Business, Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or Construction Management strongly preferred.
  • 4 - 6 years of facility, project or construction related experience in a Corporate Real Estate environment. Background in project management, construction management, architecture or project strategy planning is desirable. Minimum 2 years as Relocation Manager or related experience.
