We are looking for an experienced Program Manager to join Uber's CAS (Core Analytics and Science) team to help drive initiatives and solve complex challenges. Program Managers move fluidly from thinking about big picture solutions to nailing the tiniest detail so that the team can seamlessly deliver complex and strategic projects. As the CAS PgM, you play a pivotal role in setting and achieving visions and goals for org, and act as a connector for the team contributing to high-impact, high-visibility projects.
What You'll Do

  • Purpose: Lead the operational strategy and rhythm of business for the organization to enable teams to meet strategic goals and objectives. Identify gaps and risks to build programs, processes, and policies to drive improvements
  • Examples: Leading the planning cycle, business reviews, leadership meeting agendas, resource (headcount and dollar) allocation, strategy summits, and partner team planning
  • Drive the execution of the operational strategy and other programs, projects, and initiatives. Extend the influence of the leadership team across the organization and empower teams to deliver high quality and efficiency
  • Examples: OKR reviews and tracking, business and technical reviews, DS Foundations tracking, re-org execution, building playbooks, run misc. programs and projects
  • Financial and Headcount Management
  • Ensure organizational spending aligns with budget and priorities
  • Own and manage org-wide budgets for headcount, T&E, morale, external spend, etc., create tooling to manage budgets, facilitate annual planning, financial reviews, rationalize investment asks with impact and benefit
  • Partner with leadership, HR, and Recruiting to support people, foster growth and excellent culture across the organization
  • Lead recruiting, onboarding, and career development strategies, lead Pulse Survey feedback planning and drive execution, identify and develop "people programs" (i.e. D&I efforts, mentorship programs, recognition awards)
  • Own the communications strategy for the organization. Ensure information flows clearly and efficiently to enable teams to deliver high-quality results
  • Draft org-wide communications, all-hands, playbooks, policy and process docs, executive presentations
  • Act as an advisor, proxy, and gatekeeper to help optimize and scale the CAS executives
  • Provide recommendations and input to DS leaders, meeting facilitation, EA mentorship and coordination, ensure the executive has a balanced approach to people, process, and technology

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Program/Project manager in a tech environment and/or start-up environment.
  • Project/program management knowledge, technical knowledge, and strong business management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A strong leader, able to build, share and motivate towards a vision by creating collaboration amongst component teams
  • Strong bias to action. You drive end-to-end results and are always thinking ahead. Instead of waiting around for things to happen you proactively get things done.
  • Proven experience in communicating at all levels of the organization
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to work in a self-guided manner
  • Ability to deliver on tight timelines and move quickly while maintaining attention to detail
