Our Opportunity:

As a Sr. FC Program Manager for our Fulfillment Systems Support team, you will be leading a team of technical project and program managers to support Chewy’s entire fulfillment network. This entails providing world-class system support for Highjump WMS, Fulfillment applications, engineering initiatives, and our operational leadership teams. This team serves as a key pillar for our organization; hyper-focusing on placing our customers first through systemic positioning, constant prioritization of issues and enhancements, thorough testing, clear alignment communications, and relentlessly providing tier one service to FCs and surrounding support organizations.  Partnering with the business and our technical teams to drive results, turning problem statements into quick resolution, as well as continuing enhancement of Fulfillment Centers for the largest and fastest growing online pet retailer in the US are critical tenets for this role.  You should have deep functional understanding of warehouse operations and warehouse management systems.  You will need to be able to bridge process with system design.  This role will also flex into industrial engineering projects, racking projects, automation projects, and network capacity efforts as we continue to scale the business.

Our Sr. FC Program Manager will plan, coordinate, and direct the internal team to become and sustain the top-tier systems support team our Operations and Technical partners value and model. This individual will be able to work under aggressive timelines and make key, high-impact decisions to minimize disruptions to the business and then relentlessly drive for root cause.  They are executors who both perform and define standard work, they are prone to action, and can prioritize getting the right things done to make an impact. Our Sr. Program Manager needs to often operate with some ambiguity, forming the direction to their teams with decisiveness. This individual is also a central point of communication to all stakeholders and an extremely effective communicator; highly organized with an understanding of all aspects of the business with solid program management skills.

What You'll Do:

  • Act as an owner of the FC Systems Support space; Fulfillment Automation, Traditional Fulfillment new technologies or applications, positioning operations teams for success.
  • Create and enforce standardized processes for the team to ensure internal and external consistencies.
  • Develop meaningful reporting or general visibility to the team’s workload, challenges, and achievements.
  • Coach and develop a mix of people-managers and individual contributors.
  • Identify systemic or operational issue trends, partnering with necessary teams to drive resolution.
  • Prioritize systemic solutions on a continual basis, balancing quick wins with longer-term larger initiatives or roadmap projects.
  • Ability to understand and become a subject matter expert on the warehouse management system and drive projects within a high technical area to improve the integration of system and process.
  • Ability to leverage DMAIC and LEAN methodologies to assess gaps in our processes caused by WMS systems. 
  • Manage physical infrastructure projects such as capacity and racking projects, cart design, employee productivity efforts, and warehouse design.
  • Monitor project progress, incorporates resolutions to potential project delays and communicates project status to leadership on a timely basis.
  • Ensure smooth and consistent communication and exchanges of data between operations and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee UAT testing and rollout of new software to sites of responsibility.
  • Develop scoping documents and project proposals.
  • Creates and fosters relationships with Operations contacts and technical partners to improve communication flow between WMS/Tech and the FCs.

  • Develop metrics and reporting systems as required to facilitate process health and improvements.
  • Travel as a Sr. Program manager is required and depending on the current project assignment(s) could range from 0%-30%.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or other Engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years technical experience with project/program management
  • 5+ years’ experience functional experience in implementing process changes and managing large complex projects, or operations in a managerial capacity
  • Must have experience and knowledge of warehouse operations and warehouse management systems
  • Strong analytics and communications background (e.g., math, statistics, quantitative methods, and verbal and writing proficiency)
  • Comprehensive computer application skills – Office, Project,  SQL, Tableau
  • Cross functional team management experience
  • Experience performing business requirements analysis and design
  • Passion for problem solving, and strong desire to develop a world-class support organization
