Job Description:
As a program manager in DTO, you will report directly to the Director of DTO PMO. This is a key position to lead the definition, execution and deployment of technical programs within the Digital Transformation Organization (DTO). Your role in program definition will be to ensure programs have clear business requirements, defined solutions meeting architectural standards, appropriate resourcing, agreed delivery schedules, and viable implementation plans. Once programs are kicked off, your role is to drive programs to deliver against committed schedules, to either resolve or escalate issues, and to communicate frequent status against goals. You will continue to see programs through user acceptance and global implementation. To become a trusted and effective program manager in our team, you will need:

• A mastery of the how to lead a program through the lifecycle
• An ability to manage to task-level, based on a background of technical experience
• To enjoy identifying and brokering solutions to team problems
• An outstanding communication skills and a "can-do" attitude

Job Responsibilities:
Be accountable for Program Delivery

• Own the success of the program and the team with a fierce passion.
• Always know whether team goals are being accomplished and at what rate
• Track appropriate metrics of team progress, productivity and success
• Provide clear and objective reports of team status, issues and risks to management

Provide leadership to your teams:

• Manage team dynamics, meetings and communications to enable rapid progress
• Facilitate decision-making, issue resolution and consensus amongst the team
• Take on issues the team can't resolve and own them until you obtain resolution
• Provide clear leadership to the team

Ensure programs realize value for Yahoo:

• Work with the various engineering team to ensure projects stay aligned with business priorities
• Establish relationships across partner organizations to facilitate program-level delivery
• Contribute to the maturation of the program delivery processes for the organization.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• Proficiency at core project management skills: task breakdown, schedule development, resource allocation, risk analysis, progress tracking and reporting
• Strong grasp of enterprise infrastructure technologies
• Track record of delivering programs successfully as a dedicated program leader
• Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, at all levels of the organization
• Excellent team leadership and team building skills

Preferable Job Qualifications:

• 8 years direct program management experience
• 10 years of program management experience
• PMP certification
• Computer Science degree, Masters preferred
