WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE
The Senior Associate, Engineering provides technical support of the primary duties and responsibilities of the Vice President, Due Diligence - Engineering for acquisition, disposition, and asset management services. Coordinates technical vendor activities, and supports Portfolio Companies and Blackstone Real Estate Services to achieve the company's strategic business objectives. Key project delivery focus areas include growth in scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risk management.
HOW YOU ADD VALUE
- Ensure project setup and ongoing status updates within DealPath, Microsoft Teams, and other software platforms as appropriate for project tracking
- Interface with IT teams for data aggregation and analytics surrounding due diligence services
- Aid in the review of reports written by others to ensure each meets company and client protocols and accurately describes the asset and quantifies risks
- Interact regularly with client(s) to ensure that goals and objectives are established and achieved
- Provide technical direction and guidance to vendors assigned to projects to ensure conformance to scopes of work
- Support large portfolios of projects, liaising with team members and tracking status
- Oversee the preparation of accurate, timely, and complete reports to the client and company
- Growth mindset to develop skills to act as subject manager expert in the area of expertise, which may include Seismic, ADA, MEP, or other specialties
- Self-perform due diligence tasks for appropriate projects
- Provide technical direction and guidance to Clients on technical building and construction issues
- Ability to calculate ongoing capital reserve needs for real estate ownership
- Review and technically edits review memoranda to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality
- Ensure on-time delivery of reports and accompanying correspondence to clients
- Support Revantage and companywide ESG initiatives at the interface with engineering due to diligence processes
- Ability to travel 50% domestic, and potential for international travel as deemed appropriate
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in architecture or engineering
- Minimum of 8 years commercial building evaluation or commercial design experience with a general understanding of all building systems: site work, structural, building envelope, and MEP
- Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations
- High functioning analytical and quantitative skills with the drive to develop strategic solutions
- Knowledge of real estate financial terms and principles
- Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Collaborate effectively with others, embodying the values that represent our culture
Preferred:
- Prior experience in due diligence or project management with client management responsibilities
- Certification as either a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect
