Positions in this function are involved in the definition, management, and implementation of technology focused projects/programs. Do not use this function is not used for project/program management in non-technology roles. Positions are business specialists and technology generalists that manage, direct and interface with business clients.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with Program Manager, Business Owners and Product Management to ready projects to start
  • Work with Product Management, Scrum Master and Release Train Engineer to ready team for planning and execution
  • Build a comprehensive timeline as well as other artifacts required to move project forward
  • Create a comprehensive Project plan and keep it up to date with any adjustments or updates
  • Track costs and cost changes, documenting and sharing updates via Change control process
  • Report back using PPM tools on project status as instructed
  • Follow up with all team members on scope/schedule/cost parameters
  • Identify issues and support team in resolving them
  • Track change and submit change requests as required
  • Ensure all parties are updated regularly
  • Own the creation of any additional information or materials needed
  • Address challenges as they arise
  • Escalate unresolved issues on a timely basis
  • Support Agile transition actions and deliverables

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years as a Technical Project Manager with primarily commercial employer(s)
  • Knowledge and experience working within or supporting a PMO
  • Accountable and responsible for team deliveries and conformity to scope/schedule/cost parameters
  • Average to advanced MS Office Suite
  • Experience with PPM system updates and project start requests; time-tracking; understanding of SDLC with some Agile experience
  • Experience in managing software development changes
  • Experience reporting into and presenting to multiple director-level resources
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP
  • Large server infrastructure project management experience
  • Third party management experience
