New Relic is looking for a Program & Community Manager specifically focused on our Instant Observability Ecosystem to join our international team, based in our US Development Center in Portland or based in the US and working remotely.

Your primary focus will be to maintain the overall quality of quick starts in the I/O ecosystem and support an open source community as we expand and grow I/O.

You will join the Developer Enablement team, a team chartered to enable developers with a set of tools and utilities, a scalable demo platform used to showcase the latest and greatest New Relic capabilities, and our developer web properties. As part of the Developer Enablement team, you won't just be building a product, you will be building a community. You'll need to be comfortable working on open source projects and ready to put our end-users (developers, engineers) in the center.

What You'll Do

  • Review all incoming PRs for new and improved quick starts focused on a high level of quality
  • Provide code reviews identifying potential issues with dashboard & alert JSON, NRQL queries
  • Provide code reviews identifying potential issues with product language, syntax grammar, or content
  • Maintain our community GitHub project boards to ensure PRs are moving forward with a goal to meet team OKRs for community support
  • Works closely with our Marketing and SEO teams to define the priorities of which quick starts need content improvements.
  • Improve quick start SEO content to improve overall SERP rankings of quick starts
  • Partner with other Relics to add valuable product content to quick starts as needed
  • Willingness to make small improvements to quick starts when an opportunity arises by adding additional functionality such as Install plans, dashboards, and alerts
  • Identify bugs and improvements and ensure tickets are created in our backlog
  • Help triage bugs and improvements to internal product teams and external partner teams
  • Actively engage the I/O community with an approachable tone and supportive approach
  • Improve contributing documentation when needed
  • Provide project management support to the product development teams for cross-functional projects spanning multiple teams
  • Attends all product-engineering Standups, Demos, and Retrospectives
  • Maintain and analyze data sources such as usage reports, visualizations or dashboards to help drive the prioritization of new quick starts & improvements to existing quick starts

Your Qualifications

Must-have:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management
  • Passion for technology and interests in a broad range of different technologies
  • Good understanding of the New Relic platform and its capabilities
  • General knowledge and experience in developer tools, operational tools, and/or application management tools, including monitoring tools, build tools, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools
  • Experience with Github
  • Good understanding of DevOps with an understanding of how modern software is built, packaged, and deployed
  • Good written communication skills & fluent in English


Nice-to-have:

  • 1-2 years experience with GIT, JSON, YAML, GitHub Actions, GitHub workflows, Javascript, and HTML
  • Experience in working with and contributing to open source projects
  • Experience working with a 100% remote & distributed team
