Senior Technical Program Manager

Our team is focused on solving problems in the Healthcare industry and we are looking for Technical Program Managers who love to learn and are eager to share what they know with colleagues and customers.
The Commercial Software Engineering (CSE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers, leveraging the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges. We work closely with our customers' engineers to jointly develop code for cloud-based solutions that can accelerate their organization. We work in collaboration with Microsoft product teams, delivery teams, partners, and open-source communities to empower our customers to do more with the cloud. We pride ourselves on making contributions to open source and making our platforms easier to use.
We sit side-by-side with our customers to collaboratively innovate custom solutions tailored to solve their challenges. Our work involves the development of high-impact, open source software assets that contribute to the Microsoft platform that are broadly applicable. Important to this role, we're looking for candidates with a solid foundation in PM fundamentals, a proven track record of driving customer success, experience with Executive communications, a passion for cloud native application technologies, and experience working closely with software developers to design and build great software for customers.

  • Drive customer engagements to deliver well-defined products that generate immediate customer value and high-quality, broadly applicable software contributions to Microsoft products and to open-source communities
  • Influence product roadmaps by developing relationships with product teams, sharing insights and data from customer engagements, and driving executive communication.
  • Scale impact by identifying top priorities for in-demand subject matter experts, manage backlog and assets that help scale top customer patterns, and accelerate developer success by building trust and sharing cross-organizational best practices.
  • Participate in hands-on coding activities to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge.
  • Understand common cloud architecture patterns and trade-offs, best practices for cloud engineering, developer productivity issues, etc.
  • Contribute to a collaborative culture that embraces inclusivity and diversity
  • Continuously drive excellence in program management fundamentals to continually build our shared best-practices

Qualifications Qualifications
We are seeking people who have experiences which reflect the qualifications below:
Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years program management experience including shipping complex products or production systems that run on a public cloud
  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects, working closely with software developers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong program management (PM) experience in managing customer relationships and engagements, triaging and managing priorities, and working closely with software developers.
  • Deep understanding of cloud services and architecture, including business drivers and emerging trends across Microsoft and non-Microsoft technologies
  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. Proven track record of delivering impact as a product/program owner.
  • A good working knowledge of agile software development methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, or others
  • Proficiency in creating technical reports, white papers or case studies
  • Experience working within and directing geographically dispersed, diverse, and virtual teams
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or the equivalent
  • Comfortable with travel to meet customers and partners for 3 - 4 days every 2 months
