Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) on the Microsoft Strategic Missions and Technologies, Mission Engineering team focused on the development and delivery of new cloud infrastructure capabilities for our mission customers in Microsoft's Azure Government classified cloud regions. This is an opportunity to work across the full spectrum of engineering activities for a Hyper Scale Cloud and win a market.ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) on the Microsoft Strategic Missions and Technologies, Mission Engineering team, you will focus on the development and delivery of new cloud infrastructure capabilities our customers need to securely connect their critical missions to Microsoft's Azure Government classified cloud regions. This is an opportunity to work across the full spectrum of engineering activities for a Hyper Scale Cloud and win a market.
TPM roles and responsibilities will include assessing technical requirements for new Government offerings or customers, working with Azure service teams to develop services, features, and market-specific solutions, providing deep Azure architecture, build, and operations expertise to customers, owning technical project management of multi-year Azure-related technical projects, tracking progress of all technical work streams against project schedule, and developing and present recurring status reports to GM, VP, and CVP levels. This position includes significant hands-on development in concert with other Azure service teams.
As a Senior Technical Program Manager in the team, you will:

  • Align customer needs and Azure network capabilities through strategic intent and advocacy.
  • Identify, create, and manage multi-team projects to deliver network infrastructure service solutions for the government and its partners.
  • Support development of new connectivity infrastructure capabilities through hands-on design and deployment.
  • Meet with government and partners to define customer needs, educate customers, identify new service demand, and unlock the government market to Azure.
  • Coordinate multiple stakeholder requirements to include engineering, security and identity, implementation and operations, and compliance as part of project.
  • Work closely with Redmond, Reston, and Atlanta based Azure engineering, operations teams and other internal Microsoft groups to set expectations and priorities on capability developments and initial deployments.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to grow the Azure Government business, to understand the U.S. Government needs, remove adoption blockers and to ensure the smooth operations of running the day-to-day service.

QualificationsRequired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a technical Program Manager.
  • Minimum 5 years of network engineering experience with enterprise, global field office, and/or downrange IT system deployments for U.S. Federal Government agencies.
  • BS in Computer Science or related STEM discipline, or 4+ years equivalent industry experience.
  • Applied experience with managing implementation or operation of IT infrastructure, with preferred focus on networking infrastructure.
  • Highly effective communication and collaboration with customers, partners and across teams is required.
  • Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
