Your Impact

Handshake is hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive key initiatives across the Information Security organization. This individual will report to the Head of Information Security and work closely with the stakeholders throughout Handshake. In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical stakeholders to interpret, communicate, and drive full lifecycle security programs in incident response, penetration testing, and vulnerability management. You will work with stakeholders and leadership to set priorities and make appropriate high-judgment trade-offs between deliverables and speed-to-launch. You will build programs, drive process improvements, and work with engineering teams and other stakeholders to develop innovative solutions to complex technical security challenges. If you enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment and influencing the strategic direction of a hyper-growth environment, this position will provide you with a challenging opportunity. 

Salary range: $149,120 - $174,410

Your Role

We’re excited for you to work on:

  • Leading and expanding our Strategic Security Portfolio of program initiatives aligned to Company-Level Objectives and OKR roadmaps.

  • Managing full lifecycle program management activities including; OKR roadmap planning, Epic/Sprint planning, story and acceptance criteria definition, retrospective facilitation, and executive dashboard reporting.

  • Security Incident Response Program; evaluation, definition, integration, management, expansion.

  • Penetration Testing Program; product, infrastructure, application, mobile, and platform.

  • Vulnerability Management Program; Bug bounty program management, align with GRC operations

  • Relationship Management; Support product security customer assessments and inquiries.

  • Leading and coordinating security program design implementation efforts to develop effective solutions, make appropriate trade-offs to manage dependent release schedules, and clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Working closely with our engineering teams to ensure the team has a robust pipeline of well scoped, prioritized work.

Your Experience
  • Expertise with leading the entire lifecycle of a program, from planning to execution and driving continuous improvements.

  • Experience managing information security projects and driving programs in a matrixed environment including working with product owners, engineering managers, software developers, other cross-functional teams, and external third-party consulting vendor partners.

  • Experience with information security incident response and vulnerability management programs.

  • Experience in managing and shipping multiple, large-scale products and features while prioritizing technical debt.

  • Exceptionally organized and experienced in communicating across multiple teams and departments.

  • Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives and working with and presenting to senior leadership.

  • High-level thinker, but also detail-oriented during all phases of the project lifecycle.

  • Experience leading Agile/Scrum and OKR roadmaps, sprints/planning, retrospectives, dashboards.

  • Experience with industry standards and frameworks; NIST, ISO/IEC, OWASP, MITRE, COSO, etc.

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
