As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for independent execution of multiple medium to large sized projects, defining of project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organizing and leading project teams; managing risk and issues; correcting deviations from plans; and performing delivery of product to the business. You will be responsible for managing several concurrent and complex projects using agile methods with proven program management skills in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple business divisions and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the releases, de-risk them, and take them to completion. Understand the technical details of the development and break down complex project work to provide clarity and challenge all parties (engineers, development managers, and product managers). Identify need for resources through discussions of trade-offs with other teams to maximize the overall company's goals.
  • Coordinate with others to manage dependencies, risks, and schedules. Write trade-off documents to be reviewed by stakeholders across the company. Act as a sounding board for managers to make decisions on resources assignment for projects. Work with developers to tease out undercurrent concerns not clearly expressed. Be a voice for the engineer. Communicate effectively to others of project status and resolutions. Proficiently coordinate work and manage dependencies across multiple teams to manage dependencies, risks, and schedules
  • Anticipate and understand ways of redefining scope and breaking up of implementation to bring project back into normal course. Be prepared with project tradeoffs for scope, resources, schedules across product areas.
  • Understand the effective performance of individual team members and act as a sounding board for managers to make decisions on resources assignment for projects
  • Work with Developers to tease out undercurrent concerns not clearly expressed. Be a voice for the engineer as well as product team.
  • Create, document, and maintain comprehensive project plans and coordinate tasks required for timely completion of projects, as well as long-term deliverable sustainability (keep the lights on)
  • Assure organized and consistent uptake of tools with the PMO; assist PMO team members with project definition
  • Track dependencies among several dependent teams and drivee to completion. Provide ample lead time for schedule dependencies
  • Communicate project deviances and defines means by which project can get back on schedule
  • Participate in the creation of workflow diagrams, design documents, and product documentation. Partner with Engineering and Business with creation of project collateral.
  • Work with team to establish benchmark around all work done in app or in backend.
  • Determine bottlenecks and ways to implement better solutions
  • Serve in the mentor role for the team and coaches others. Influence the performance and progression of others in the team
  • Perform debugging and testing of product to have a personal sense and judgment of quality
  • May include other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in managing technology projects in support of a highly technical environment
  • 7+ years of experience in managing work in an agile environment
  • Experience in Project Leadership
  • Experience working with remote teams in different countries and cultures
  • Experience in managing complex projects or programs at scale
  • Experience managing cross-organizational programs and ability to set and hold teams and individuals to timelines and deliverables without explicit authority Strong understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate project management tools
  • Ability to Define and speak to technical details of project items
  • Ability to understand the business impact of project items and the tradeoffs of scope changes to the business
  • Experience in defining processes with clear objectives and ways to measure the effectiveness of the process
  • Analytical skills are critical
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience interacting with both business and engineering individuals at all levels including the executive level
  • Experience leading sprint planning, scrum-of-scrum, retrospective and other Agile process functions

Preferred:

  • 10+ years software engineering experience, with a proven track record of leading large-scale IT projects to successful delivery and completion 10+ years' experience in a technical lead role Strong experience in SQL
  • Experience in JIRA reporting and creating data analysis reports
  • Experience in parsing log files to narrow down issues for the engineers in case of escalations
  • Experience and understanding of consumer-facing applications
  • Experience testing web and mobile applications - Use of testing automation tools is a plus
