Job Description Qualifications:
The Boeing Company is seeking an Senior Software Project Management Lead based out of either Berkeley MO, Mesa AZ, Fairfax VA, Huntsville AL, Oklahoma City OK, Seal Beach CA, or Long Beach CA.
You will be joining a team of software engineers from across the Boeing Enterprise who are developing best practices and cutting-edge software to deliver the best value to our customers. A successful candidate will highlight their interest and experience with - or eagerness to learn - all phases of the software development lifecycle, cloud technologies, and scalable architectures from embedded systems to data centers. A successful candidate will be self-motivated and professional, and will embrace continuous learning and improvement.
Software Engineering is responsible for developing and integrating innovative, world-class software and we are looking for talented engineers to join our team. We are revolutionizing products across domains and want your help to design, implement, integrate, deliver, and promote cloud-native technologies to multiple programs and teams across Boeing.
Position Responsibilities:
As a member of the team, you will be:

  • Coordinating the activities across the Software Engineering SEIT organization from the Board level
  • Creating and delivering backlog items for the Software Engineering Function
  • Contributing to the prioritization of standards for cloud-native software
  • Developing and updating DevSecOps pipelines
  • Scheduling technical training and working hands-on with teams to encourage adoption of software engineering products and concepts
  • Working with geographically-dispersed interdisciplinary team of Engineering and Program Management professionals


This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 4+ years of experience developing C++, Go, or Rust software
  • 1+ years of experience CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Gitlab, Jenkins)
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker


Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Public clouds (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Git, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, gRPC
  • Micro-service, cloud-native, and distributed architectures
  • Teaching or consultation experience
  • Agile development methodology
  • Test Driven Development


Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years' related work experience, 19 years' related work experience, etc.).
