Your Opportunity
We are looking for a talented technical Senior Scrum Master / Release Train Engineer to join the Schwab Bank Technology team to lead banking products train. We will focus on driving client-centricity, reducing time to market & increasing efficiency.
Ideal candidate enjoys fast-paced environment, thrives under ambiguity and embraces change passionately. Ideal candidate has a hands-on role in managing Scaled Agile process working closely with software development, platform and product teams. They help their teams adopt and improve on the Scrum methodology. They coach their teams to higher levels of maturity by continually improving their process, and ensuring that they adhere to the Scrum framework. Have experience with managing PI planning process. Have excellent communication and facilitation skills, are well organized, and exhibit above average follow-up and follow-through skills. They facilitate discussion, decision making and conflict resolution. They evangelize, demonstrate, and live the Agile values and principles.

Colorado Compensation
Target Total Compensation - $101,400 - $165,400

What you are good at
In this role, you can expect to

  • Be responsible for overseeing all task activities assigned to Scrum teams and act as Servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train.
  • Be the Scrum Master of Scrum Masters supporting all Schwab Bank Scrum teams.
  • Collaborate with Business partners, Product Owners and Software Engineering teams.
  • Facilitate the ART events (Program Increment Planning Event using Mural or other collaboration tools) and processes and assists the teams in delivering value. Team Readouts, ROAM Events, Scrum of Scrums.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.
  • Provide leadership, direction and coaching to the team by encouraging them to adopt and mature good Scrum processes according to the Scrum Guide.
  • Build partnership with the Product Owner, track and communicate to Stakeholders information such as team velocity, Sprint/release progress, impediments, team successes.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, facilitate cross-team coordination.
  • Interface with product owners on an active basis to manage product backlog and sprint activities. Remove obstacles and manage risks to enable team efficiency and effectiveness.



What you have
To thrive in this role, you have

    • Scrum Master/Sclaed Agile certifications
    • 5+ years of experience facilitating ART
    • 7+ years of experience on an Agile team (PI Planning, leading ceremonies, empowering teams, identifying coaching opportunities)
    • Excellent facilitation experience and strong personality.
    • High level of computer literacy; ability to learn new tools and products quickly
    • Understanding and experience with broad technical skills across multiple domains (technology, information, process, applications, etc) and platforms (mainframe, web-based, PCF, etc.) and databases (SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB).
    • Strong problem solving and the ability to partner with Product Owners, Software Application engineers, Release Engineers and other engineers across an organization.
    • Financial, Trading, brokerage services industry experience is a plus
    • Experience with Atlassian suite of products: JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.
    • Experience with collaboration tools.
    • Must be an excellent team player and a servant leader
    • Highly adaptable to changing environment
    • Ability to coach teams to reach their highest potential
    • Strong knowledge of Scaled Agile framework.
    • Ensure all scrum activities are tracked and kept up-to-date and reported on a regular basis.
    • Must have experience managing software development projects, preferable managing or performing software development projects using an Agile Scrum approach.
    • Ability to apply scrum estimation techniques to software development efforts, strong leadership and organizational skills with excellent communication (written and verbal), time management, project planning, people and team building skills.
    • Experience with scoping, sizing and overseeing multiple concurrent projects, assessing the appropriate level of risk, reviewing team deliverables and being the single point of contact for stakeholders
    • Understanding of CI/CD practices, lean methodologies
    • Understanding of QA practices
    • Experiene with full software development life cycle through deployment
