General Summary and Purpose:

Are you an experienced Scrum Master who wants to scale up your skills to multiple scrum teams? Are you a student of best practices, and a self-motivator? We may have just the position for you, working as a Senior Scrum Master in the role of Release Train Engineer for our Digital Factory! We are growing our Digital Factory leaning on agile best practice for delivery. We work with 3rd party solution providers onshore and offshore, and with our own developers, to provide best of breed solutions for our stakeholders and end users.

You will report to the Director of Application Solutions and work out of our San Antonio office.

You Will:

  • Work closely with the Director of Application Solutions and Development Managers to foster a continuous improvement mindset, manage activities to include planning, budgeting, estimation, staffing for the Digital Factory.
  • Collaborate to maintain the Digital Factory roadmap, backlogs, release, and iteration calendar up to date based on the business prioritization.
  • Assist our Digital Product SMEs in monitoring the portfolio backlog and incoming requests to ensure that Epics are captured, groomed, and estimated in time for scrum teams to plan them into their sprints.
  • Coordinate with architects, scrum team leads, and tech leads to ensure that epics and stories are implementable within sprints per release plan.
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies with scrum masters and tech leads.
  • Monitor sprint progress and monitor the burndown, test coverage and other key metrics across teams, during sprints.
  • Facilitate Digital Factory joint sprint planning and review to ensure alignment across sprints and initiatives.
  • Report Digital Factory status to stakeholders, covering sprint progress, the pipeline, issues, and blockers, escalations.
  • Coordinate the rollout of DevSecOps technology standards e.g., monitoring, alerting, scaling, availability, technology and business logging and audit across our Scrum teams.
  • Review solution options and provide thought leadership.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies - daily scrum team stand-ups as required, moderate scrum of scrums, monitor sprint demos and reviews, facilitate Digital Factory retrospections.
  • Collaborate in Incident Management: Contribute to mitigations e.g., incident bridge calls, guide the teams to resolution, track and review Root Cause Analysis and follow ups.

You Have:

  • Excellent understanding of software development best practices
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Development best practices
  • Command of software code management/release management, incident management best practices
  • Command of agile methodologies and their application
  • Familiarity with Test Automation best practices
  • Familiarity with Performance Testing best practices
  • Asecurity-oriented mindset
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
  • University degree (BA, BS or higher)

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years as a Scrum Master
  • Background as a developer (5 years as a developer with design/architecture responsibilities
  • Mentoring onshore and offshore team members
  • Scrum Master Certification, Scaled Agile, LeSS experience
  • Familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Services) and a desire to learn
  • Strong Jira and Confluence skills
  • Wealth Management, Trading, Compliance domains
