In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. ***This position will be in Kansas City, MO***

Summary of Duties:

  • Assists and represents divisional management in technical and administrative matters, performing specialized assignments as directed
  • Supports and facilitates divisional projects, technical and/or operational efforts that cross divisions/functions, including the application of sound management techniques to reduce costs and improve operations
  • Requirements Writing: Develop, maintain, and map Operational Excellence Key business processes and procedures around Program and Project Management
  • Functions as a divisional project lead, which may involve responsibility for coordinating some of the work of specific individuals and providing direction to them in connection with divisional projects that span across divisions
  • Performs some integrative, administrative, and logistical liaison roles with company, Department of Energy, design agencies, laboratories, integrated contractors and other government agencies for one or more weapons and growth programs
  • May function as lead for one or more elements
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements within the division in efficiency of services performed
  • Utilizes best-practice and innovative processes to define, coordinate, and implement procedural changes to assure cost-effective operations throughout the division
  • Coaches and mentors analyst, project managers and other program support staff
  • May perform other duties as required


You Must Have:

  • Five or more years of relevant experience in project planning, engineering of products or processes or contract management.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering or 2 additional years of direct work experience in lieu of a degree

  • Solid understanding of Program and Project Management methodology
  • HUE Methodology and Tools
  • Understanding of Primavera P6 and the category milestone process
  • Understanding and experience working in Jira and APEX
  • Product Realization and 6.x Process
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management, Engineering processes and procedures, demand management, contract management, and financial management
  • Ability to work with multiple teams of people and inspire those teams to work together to reach a common goal
  • Green Belt certification
  • PMI Certification preferred
  • Experience managing customer contracts with government customers
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
