Role Overview:

The Senior Project Manager will lead and manage a team of personnel assigned to an implementation, upgrade, or similar type of project. Dependent on project size and scope, a Sr. Project Manager may be assigned multiple projects to manage. The Sr. Project Manager will be accountable for project deliverables, timeline, and budget. Key to this role will be creating and maintaining a project plan, working with managers to estimate work effort and allocate resources, and delivering excellent customer service by building a strong and effective working relationship with the customer.

This role will include actively mentoring Project Managers & Project Coordinators within the PMO organization. Significant travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for larger, more complex accounts
  • Mentor Project Manager & Project Coordinators within the PMO organization
  • Assist in training new hires within the PMO organization
  • Early adopter of new PMO processes
  • Become SME on playbook, integrations and project planning
  • Champion PMO initiatives and ensure adherence
  • Accountable for the successful completion of a project's deliverables
  • Has the lead role on a project team and serves as the primary contact
  • Documents project scope
  • Manages changes in scope in accordance with change control procedures
  • Develops, updates, and actively manages a comprehensive project plan, including tasks, start and end dates, work effort, resource assignments, milestones, and critical path
  • Actively leads the project planning process, stages, and customer engagement
  • Drives collaboration between functional teams and customers to achieve milestones and deliverables
  • Ensures major decisions are documented and communicated
  • Identifies and document issues. Works with project team to resolve
  • Identifies and mitigates risks
  • Documents actions items and verifies they're completed
  • Contributes to improving Project Management Office (PMO) processes
  • Applies PMO standards and methods to deliver desired results
  • Collaborates with managers and directors to secure resources for a project
  • Coordinates and schedules meetings and onsite activities
  • Facilitates meetings. Ensures agenda and minutes are published
  • Responsible for ensuring project artifacts are stored in a location in line with company policies and are accessible by appropriate team members
  • Manages resource bookings for assigned project(s)
  • Responsible for reporting on the status of a project and escalating issues
  • Drafts Statement of Work (SOW) or Change Request (CR) as appropriate
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Significant travel may be required

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 1-year experience with MHK as a Project Manager
  • Successfully executed an implementation end-to-end. Success is defined by meeting project deliverables/deadlines on time and within budget
  • Demonstrated the ability to mentor others within the PMO
  • Built strong relationships within the department & with internal partners acrost all areas within the organization
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of integrations, data, sprint planning, QA preparedness, and agile methodologies
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Experienced in project governance, capacity planning, and project budgeting
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry (Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial) and understanding of related compliance and quality aspects
  • Self-starter, with strong sense of ownership, assertive follow-through, and a passion for the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Proficient technical understanding: ability to demonstrate knowledge of software development life cycle, application design, integration, and hosting technologies
  • Excellent verbal, organizational, and written skills
  • Experience with practical application of Project Management Institute (PMI) global standards
  • Working knowledge of MS Project
