Scrum Master
As an experienced Scrum Master you will be responsible for driving technology projects and delivering project outcomes with the desired benefits, following appropriate methodology to ensure the work stays on track and moves through obstacles, impediments. You will be responsible for leading and facilitating all scrum events for the scrum team and will be an enabler for the team to be fully functional and productive. The Scrum Master will work across a highly technical matrixed business, facilitating cooperation across roles/functions and removing barriers and impediments to achieve continuous improvements. This role works with multiple development partners to build scalable software, and may leverage multiple or hybrid development lifecycle processes as required.
Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for facilitating/leading the full cycle of scrum activities for your scrum teams
  • Forecast the number of deliverables possible in all iterations and deliver reliable and practicable plans for all software development projects
  • Facilitate efficient daily coordination of Product Owners/Managers and Development teams, composed of staff and/or external consultants, located in multiple time zones
  • Play an active supporting role to the Product Owner/Managers, especially with refining and managing the product backlog
  • Confirm highest-priority stories have been fully groomed and ready for sprint planning and facilitate sprint planning sessions
  • Capture team member's capacity for upcoming sprint and load the physical task board for the team
  • Prepare tools and resources for sprint planning
  • Confirm workshops sessions/ceremonies for the upcoming Sprint are scheduled and update backlog and/or tool with tasks and commitments
  • Capture end of day metrics and prepare Burn Down and Burn Up charts for Daily stand-up
  • Facilitate daily stand-up and sprint demo and facilitate sprint review session ensuring team is prepared for demo
  • Finalize the sprint report based on the demo and Product Owner/Manager acceptance
  • Capture and track/ remove impediments, risks and dependencies until resolution
  • Facilitate the teams Retrospective
  • Updates the team improvement backlog with commitments for the retrospective

Requirements
Required Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related technology field or equivalent work experience
  • Typical candidates will possess 7+ years of relevant experience in the technology field, including 3+ years of relevant agile/project management experience and a BA/BS degree or equivalent
  • Experience driving and leading technology projects via agile methodology and frameworks; Scrum, Kanban, etc.
  • Experience in leading agile teams
  • Knowledge of embedded SDLC processes
  • Proficient with agile processes; story sizing, backlog management
  • Experience with software development and collaboration tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, VersionOne, Confluence, Trello, Slack, etc
  • Understands the basic fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
  • Knowledge about agile techniques
  • Previous Scrum master experience for a software development team
  • Experience managing projects - complex nature
  • Adapting to the demands of bug and break-fix incidents
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions with changed plans and priorities
  • Run meetings efficiently
  • Manage multiple concurrent priorities
  • Possesses conflict resolution skills and the ability to create openness, honesty and respect within scrum teams
  • Strong communication skills - team effectiveness
  • Ability to coach, bringing team to agile maturity
  • Acts as a safeguard for team
  • Effective communication skills; feedback, tailored messages, ability to communicate technical/non-technical information to team, stakeholders
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen in accordance with applicable laws


Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Agile Scrum Master, CSM Certification is preferred
  • Previous experience working on a technology/cybersecurity team
  • Previous experience working with team transitioning from classic waterfall methodology to agile


Colorado Candidates:
Minimum salary of eighty eight thousand dollars + stock options + benefits. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
*Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when working remotely from the state of Colorado.
