Overview
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the management of complex data science / machine learning projects in collaboration with and in support of the Data Science team. Will support the Data Science team in developing and managing project plans, ensuring scope and objectives are thoroughly documented, dependencies are identified and managed, project risks and issues are mitigated, implementation activities are managed and timely project status is communicated to project teams and stakeholders. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing associated project resources with the goal of delivering the data science initiatives on time (within budget), adhering to high quality standards and meeting customer expectations. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for driving strategic initiatives that may involve senior management or other project managers.
Job Description

  • Proactively interface across departments and/or divisions to manage all facets of project delivery including defining project scope & objectives, requirements, benefits, impacts to business and technology processes, methodologies, implementation plans, stakeholder relationships, project deliverables, risk assessment and business results
  • Create detailed project plans to monitor and track progress
  • Identify project team and solidify accountability, updating roles and responsibilities as needed
  • Collaborate with other PMOs and stakeholders across the enterprise to continually monitor project performance and guide project activities to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
  • Support project leads in calendaring and leading meetings producing timely meeting summaries of key takeaways, decisions and action items
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including scope, schedule, and risks, actions, issues and decisions log
  • Establish processes to efficiently collect and communicate progress and outcomes with project team and stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks, reporting critical issues that may jeopardize timelines or success to management as needed
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Participate as a valuable team member to help build and maintain data science strategies and machine learning solutions
  • Ensure solutions are feasible to implement and achieve the business' objectives
  • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned by manager

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Experience in the direct management of complex, cross-functional Data Science projects with successful delivery
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Knowledge of processes used to create/implement Data Science Models
  • Strong collaborative, communication, and influencing skills to obtain buy-in and drive change across multiple functions
  • Advanced experience with MS Office and Google Suite; working knowledge of program/project management software
  • Proven track record at delivering timely results in a face-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently
  • Able to maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment with a fluid process
  • Self-starter with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface effectively with management team
  • Proven people management skills
  • Desired Skills:
    • Broad knowledge of mortgage industry and/or financial services including marketing, capital markets, collections, servicing, product development, and origination
    • Knowledge of Data Engineering/Data Analytics
    • Experience onboarding new vendors working with Vendor Management, Compliance, Legal, and Contracts teams
    • Proven experience with software and data solution development lifecycle
