About the job
Red Hat's Products and Technology (PnT) team is looking for a Senior Program Manager to work on the Master Data Management (MDM) implementation program. In this role, you will integrate with the broader portfolio management team, ensuring that PnT needs and stakeholders are represented and overseeing projects related to product MDM implementation. You will manage multiple concurrent high-visibility integration and change management projects. As a Senior Program Manager, you'll need the expertise in both traditional project management principles and agile methodologies for effective coordination of a variety of systems and teams. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value
  • Organize and lead project status and working meetings, prepare and distribute progress reports, manage risks and issues, correct deviations from plans, and perform delivery planning for assigned projects
  • Hold teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; use organizational resources to improve capacity for project work
  • Support program management in managing stakeholder expectations for deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of program governance
  • Define and manage well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for project management
  • Contribute to and implement communication and change plans both internally to PnT team and enterprise wide


What you will bring

  • BS or BA degree, master's degree is a plus
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models and expert knowledge of both agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
  • Record of successfully implementing software, especially Software-as-a-Service (SAAS), or web development projects using agile methodologies with 5+ years of experience working as a project manager managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a big plus
  • Prior experience with scrum and agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects; Agile Certified Professional (ACP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or equivalent certification is a big plus
  • Experience overseeing multi-function project teams with 10 to 15 team members including developers, business analysts, and quality assurance (QA) associates
  • Technical background to provide highly-credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues
  • Great interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building
  • Solid investigative, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
  • Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure that objectives, goals, and commitments are fulfilled
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience interacting with both business and IT associates at all levels, including the executive level
  • Creative approach to problem solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the "big picture" view
