Applied Research Associates, Inc is currently seeking a Senior Program Manager to work in our Concept Development Group (CDG), Southwest Division, based in Albuquerque, NM. The physical job location for this position will be either Niceville, FL or Albuquerque, NM. ARA's CDG is a recognized leader in weapons development, high fidelity shock response modeling, and hard target penetration mechanics. The group is at the forefront of providing digitally engineered solutions to challenging and nationally important weapons related problems. ARA's CDG is currently working multiple technologically challenging efforts, requiring an individual who is capable of immediate program contributions.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interface directly with high-level government clients and will have the responsibility to communicate his or her work to customers. This individual will work closely with engineers and scientists in a highly collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, including US citizenship.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies for solving complex and nationally important problems
  • Manage the daily cost, schedule, and performance for large, complex programs
  • Track deliverables and provide monthly status reports to appropriate government and contractual personnel
  • Assist contract representatives with ongoing strategic planning
  • Meet with Government customers and program team members on a regular basis to review program status and plan future actions
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings and prepare inputs for technical and cost proposals
  • Acquiring follow-on business associated with areas of responsibility and support new business development
  • Provide subject matter expertise in DoD acquisition process



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10 years of experience work in DoD program management
  • Demonstrated business development success
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team of peers
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance



Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Program Management
  • Defense Acquisition System training
  • Contracts administration experience


  • Broad knowledge of DoD program functions


  • Secret (or equivalent) clearance in the last 5 years
