Collins Aerospace is seeking a Leader to lead our global team of Technical Project Managers in support of Collins Aerospace, Airports business. The successful candidate will work with the Integrated Project Management team, enabling the team of Technical Project Managements as they interact with Program Managers, Engineers and Support team delivering Collins Aerospace Airports products and solutions to our customers.

This role allows the successful candidate, working with the Head of Airports Engineering to not only enable the Technical Project Management team in their successful execution, but to influence and continually improve the process environment that the team work in, enabling continual reduction in cycle times and improved customer delivery.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Managing resources and supporting the Technical Project Managers in their planning and execution of projects in support of the business objectives
  • Developing the team to Continuously Improve the Planning, Execution and Monitoring of Engineering Project performance
  • Leading the team to enable accurate planning and execution of internally funded Product development and Customer funded solution delivery across the global marketplace
  • Working with the Collins Aerospace Airports products, delivered using a number of technology stacks, including On Premise and Cloud based solutions
  • Spending approximately 70% of your time on resource management, planning, process improvement and supporting and developing the team, with the remained directly supporting project
  • As you will be working across the entire Airports portfolio you will be exposed to a wide range of business contacts, enabling a strong network to be built.
  • As part of the Collins Aerospace team this role will allow you to interact with teams beyond the Airports and Collins Aviation Solutions teams, enabling career growth opportunities within the whole of Collins Aerospace.
  • This role is remote, with access to any of the Collins Aviation Solution sites as needed, reflecting the global team that you will be working with.
  • Reporting to the Head of Airports Engineering, with responsibilities to the business Program Managers

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor's degree (typically in Science,
  • Project Management qualification, or demonstrate 3 years experience of project management

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience of MS Office products, such as MS Project to perform planning
  • Experience within the Airports and Airline industries
  • Experience of Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools
  • Knowledge of complex Networked solutions involving On Premise and Cloud based solutions
  • Demonstrated ability of operational planning,
  • Demonstrated ability of problems solving involving multiple products and teams across multiple locations
  • Demonstrated ability of excellent communication with team members, cross functional colleagues, and external customers
  • Demonstrated ability of influencing others, using data lead discussion and active listening
  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience, recruitment, promotion, and reward
