Senior Manager, Program Management
About the Role
Program Management at Chime improves how teams prioritize against our business strategy, drives cross-functional execution and accountability, and provides teams more leverage. We are looking for a self-starter, change agent, and exceptional problem solver with a demonstrated track record of leading large, cross-functional projects. You’ll participate in strategic planning and drive the delivery of our most important priorities across internal and external stakeholders. As a manager within this function, you’ll coach program managers, help develop processes and best practices, ultimately setting the bar for how we operate as a company.
This job cannot be performed remotely in the state of Colorado.
In this role, you can expect toÂ
- Set team strategy, objectives, and goals that aligns with Program Management and Chime’s broader vision
- Manage a team of program and project managers and hold them accountable to resultsÂ
- Coach to clarify assignments and deliverables; mentor others in program management practices; review quality of work
- Assess incoming project request to determine resource requirements and allocation of work to program and project managers
- Ensures consistent implementation of standards, processes, and support services for all programs being driven by the program management team
- Support annual and quarterly planning. Contribute to cross-functional and team OKR setting and prioritization
- Develop future-oriented processes and best practices to support organizational scale and rapid growth
- Maintain operational and communication cadence with Program Management partners to set, align, and reinforce expectations and solicit feedback
- Addresses team and interpersonal challenges head-on and promotes team cohesion
- Be a thought partner in building a high-performance culture
To thrive in this role, you haveÂ
- 12+ years in program/project management
- 5+ years of experience managing a team of project or program managers; preferably with experience scaling a team as well
- Exceptional project management and organization skillsÂ
- Strong track record of leading teams; can navigate interpersonal challenges with honesty, transparency, and empathy
- Structured and direct verbal and written communication skills
- First-principles problem solver - distills complex problems to their root cause and main drivers; challenges assumptions even from senior leaders to ensure we set and meet high standards
- Resilient and able to work autonomously in the face of ambiguity
- Ability to see the bigger picture while maintaining attention to detail; solves for future problems not just today’s specific challenge.Â
- Technical/finance background and/or demonstrated ability to learn quickly
- High-growth startup experience a strong plus
