Job summary
The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for a Senior Manager for our Learning Curriculum team in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for design, development, and curation of sales, technical, manager, leadership, professional, and diversity, equity, and inclusion solutions for all Red Hat's associates. As a member of the Red Hat University Leadership team, you'll guide a team of learning portfolio owners, instructional designers, multimedia specialists, and other creative peers to produce solutions that help our associates develop skills and enable Red Hat to deliver the open hybrid cloud, powered by an open organization. As a Senior Manager, you will also work with global stakeholders in HR and in the business to determine Red Hat's learning and development priorities, conduct needs assessments, and curate, design, and develop solutions that cover the needs of our associates, managers, and leaders.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Guide the curation, design, development, and maintenance of learning experiences in four domains: management and leadership, sales and services, technical and professional development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Cooperate with HR business partners and other global stakeholders to ensure Red Hat University (RHU) learning and development offerings align with Red Hat's business objectives
  • Ensure RHU offerings include the optimal mix of formal and informal learning and development and performance support solutions like self-paced learning, instructor-led learning, etc.
  • Ensure RHU offerings have clear measures of success and that measurement plans are in place and delivered to evaluate their success
  • Monitor the health and effectiveness of learning solutions in each portfolio, and make needed updates to maintain health and effectiveness throughout offering life cycle
  • Strengthen RHU's ability to effectively curate content available on the open market and ensure internal design and development resources are focused on offerings where they can add unique value
  • Establish and manage a reliable group of third party content designers and developers to supplement and cooperate with our design and development professionals
  • Partner with the RHU Learning Delivery team to meaningfully include facilitators in the design and development process
  • Ensure learning solutions are impactful, scalable, and cost effective through the application of adult learning theory and instructional design
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure selection of the best possible solutions and delivery modes based on business needs and learner profiles
  • Ensure a smooth transition of learning and development solutions to the Global Delivery team, and provide ongoing design support and consultation


Required skills

  • 5+ years of experience managing a team, with a record of creating and nurturing a collaborative environment focused on results
  • Ability to collaborate at all levels of an organization with demonstrated capability to achieve goals in a fast-paced dynamic cooperative environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex, strategic ideas or concepts in a business and user-friendly manner
  • 5+ years of experience managing skill development aligned with strategic and tactical business goals
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and implementing learning and development programs that are practical, realistic, and produce measurable impact
  • Proven experience curating open market content to deliver against learning priorities of the business
  • Ability to translate learning theory into practical and scalable solutions
  • Solid background in the design, development, and implementation of learning and development solutions, with a mix of formal and informal elements aligned to the 70-20-10 model
  • Experience working in a globally distributed environment, with a record of balancing global and local needs to produce impactful business outcomes
  • Bachelor's or master's degree focused on instructional design, organizational training, development, corporate education, performance support, or another relevant field
  • Ability to make business decisions while building, growing, and maintaining collaborative relationships
  • Ability to handle issues, problems, or events that do not always have a process, system, or solution in place
