The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading/driving/managing IT projects focused on the integration of newly acquired clinics or entities as well as Real Estate projects that require IT support in creating new clinic locations, clinic relocations, clinic expansions and clinic remodels. The project manager is responsible for the delivery of all IT aspects of these projects which include Desktop, Network, Telephony, Security/Compliance, Application migration, decommission, etc. The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for ensuring scope is delivered according to required schedule, budget, benefits, and quality standards. The Senior IT Project Manager will lead and manage a wide variety of projects with complex scope and scale that requires participation/collaboration from a variety of IT partners and vendors to successfully deliver. The Senior IT Project Manager manages all aspects of the project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery. The Senior IT Project Manager develops project plans, builds project schedules, manages project meetings, communicates progress and status, enforces quality management, and identifies, responds, and manages risks, issues, and changes and manages all information technology project activities and ensures all project phases are documented appropriately. The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for strong collaboration and partnership with Business Partners, Vendors, and IT Partners.
Hybrid Role: 3 days in office or clinic and 2 days telecommute. 25% Travel required to Clinics within the DFW area.
If you are located within DFW area, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads and drives all aspects of assigned projects. Provides project and domain expertise and leadership to integration and real estate projects to lead and manage project teams and ensure project objectives and organizational goals are met on schedule, on budget, on quality, and on benefit
  • Defines and implements project plans that meet business requirements. Revises appropriately to meet changing requirements via change control. Plans and schedules Project timelines and milestones using the appropriate tools. Manages day-to-day operational and tactical activities of a Project. Develops and delivers Progress Reports, Proposals, Requirements Documentation and Presentations. Diagnoses task/procedural change issues and helps to resolve issues/risks, etc.
  • Ensures that Project documents are current and complete, as well as appropriately managed and stored. Conducts Project post mortems and creates Lessons Learned reports to identify Project elements that were both successful and unsuccessful
  • Manages all financial aspects of assigned projects. Including project estimates, actuals, budget management, forecasts and invoice reconciliation processes for all IT projects
  • Provides Status Reports; analyzes results of the Progress Reports and troubleshoot problem areas. Defines project success criteria and responsible that deliverables are well defined and being met by the Project Team
  • Understands how to communicate difficult and sensitive information tactfully. Effectively
  • communicates relevant Project information to superiors. Proactively manages changes in Project scope, identifies any potential crisis or issues and devises contingency plans to mitigate concerns
  • Effectively applies the company's Project Management and Project Lifecycle methodology and enforces Project standards. Manages and minimizes exposure and risk on a Project. Ensures timely completion of Project level tasks. Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities. Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the Project Team. Escalates critical issues to Sr. Leadership to inform and gain support of solution options
  • Facilitates team meetings effectively. Holds regular status meetings with the Project Team. Keeps Project Team informed of changes within the Project. Delivers informative and well-organized presentations to the Project Team and Management

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate in Information Systems degree or related technical field degree or equivalent experience (8 additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree)
  • 8+ years of project management experience leading and delivering on all aspects of technical projects
  • 5+ years of experience working in the Health Care Industry
  • 5+ years of experience working across the IT Project Life Cycle
  • Proficiency with using one or more project lifecycle methodologies such as waterfall, SCRUM, or Agile methods
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Proficiency with MS Project and MS Visio


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other project management certification
  • Experience working in or around a clinical environment
  • Knowledge of various IT Infrastructure technologies ie. Client-Server Technologies and Network Operating Systems, Network architecture, configuration, and protocols.; Telecommunications, Network Communications technology- TCP/IP, DNS, and Internet concepts, Desktop Hardware and Software Solutions
  • Understanding and/or experience with Clinical or Claim Systems ie. AMD, eClinicalWorks, Cerner, NextGen, GE, Eclipsys, Allscripts, IKA, QNXT, Facets, Amisys
