The Opportunity
Rapid7’s Experience Design team is driving the transformation of the brand and creating the end-to-end experiences that build meaningful relationships with our customers. We’re a team that believes boundaries are for pushing and what we did last time is just the beginning of what we’ll do next.
This role on the Experience Design’s Brand team will serve as an architect–envisioning and overseeing the development of multiple programs across the discipline of brand; ensuring that they come together to achieve company and brand growth. This role requires a blend of program management, strategic marketing, relationship building, and brand evangelism skills to build out foundational and long-term brand programs. This will include cross-functional collaboration to: define strategies and positioning, develop the brand project roadmap, manage rollout and enablement of major brand initiatives such as product rebrands and brand tooling releases, help develop the brand governance program, as well as plan and oversee the execution of brand marketing campaigns and brand partnerships.

The Role
As the Sr Brand Program Manager, you’ll shape how we build brand processes, programs, and resonance with our internal and external customers:
Establish the engagement model for working with the Brand team
Be the gatekeeper to the brand roadmap, advising on project priority and defining intake processes for new requests
Set the scope and define the project plan for major brand initiatives and projects, developing structured SLAs and repeatable processes
Build foundational processes for collaborating across functions within the Experience Design’s Brand, Design Studio, and Content Strategy teams, as well as processes for how Brand co-creates with partner teams across the business
Serve as a reviewer of project inputs, such as marketing and creative briefs, into the Brand and Experience Design creative teams
Own the development and continued evolution of the Brand wiki as an internal tool for educating and communicating with stakeholders on brand processes, systems, priorities, and projects
Develop internal communications and enablement processes for the release of brand announcements and brand artifacts and tooling
Develop an operational framework to protect, manage, and strengthen the Rapid7 brand with a keen eye on minimizing risks to brand reputation
Partner with Brand Governance leads to establish and maintain brand guidelines and brand enablement operations to ensure consistent brand expression across all channels and customer interfaces
Develop and ideate brand positioning, messaging, and strategies for brand-driven growth, in partnership with Brand, Content Strategy, Digital Strategy, Growth Marketing, Product Marketing, and Portfolio Marketing
Gather, analyze, and action on customer insights and data in collaboration with Portfolio Marketing, Product Marketing, Customer Research, and Brand team members to help define innovative brand marketing strategies that elevate Rapid7’s brand story and differentiated position across a variety of key audiences globally
Work closely with Customer Research, Growth Marketing, Product Marketing, Portfolio Marketing, and Brand teams to maintain a deep understanding of the Rapid7 target customer and cybersecurity category, competition, and trends to transform these insights into brand growth opportunities
Manage agency partnerships to deliver brand development, strategy, and creative initiatives
Develop and lead programs for brand marketing, partnerships, and sponsorship activations
Collaborate with other leaders to create innovative work, optimize agency relationships, and ensure alignment of activation plans with overall media and brand strategies
In collaboration with Employer Brand, Content Strategy, and External Comms leads, help develop and implement Rapid7’s Employee Brand Advocacy and Influencer Content programs, as well as third party content opportunities with industry analysts and other influential players in the security space
Develop and implement insight-driven and compelling brand communications and brand marketing plans to elevate Rapid7’s brand story, clearly articulate Rapid7’s benefits, increase brand awareness, and drive shifts in brand perception
Work cross functionally to establish systems and process for measuring brand health and brand marketing performance KPIs–setting goals and identifying key audiences across a wide range of content types
Support the development of key brand messaging and creation of integrated brand marketing campaigns to connect with customers, increase brand engagement and brand affinity, and deliver against key brand metrics
Measure the impact of brand campaign strategies on awareness and perception and experiment and iterate to optimize against KPIs; provide campaign performance updates to leadership and internal stakeholders on a regular cadence
Key Qualifications and Traits
6-8+ years’ experience managing internal/external communications programs or brand programs on a global scale (a blend of B2B and B2C experience is welcome)
3+ years’ experiencing managing agencies, contractors, and full-time employees with a passion for building, mentoring, and motivating inclusive teams
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree, in Communications, English, or equivalent
Expert command and understanding of program management best practices
Exceptional project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
Expertise in handling sophisticated projects and developing programs from the ground up–leading teams and managing multiple stakeholder interactions
Creative, strategic thinker with ability to distill complex content and multiple perspectives into easily consumed communication frameworks that scale across products, processes, and audiences
Experience in brand communications with a proven track record for spearheading purpose-led comms
Passionate seeker of the customer insights and human truths needed to inform innovative strategy, breakthrough creative, and exceptional brand programming
Experience elevating a brand’s perception and developing positioning and messaging for a global market
Ability to excel within complex, multi-functional organizations–developing broad networks of relationships with internal and external partners
Strong media and marketing skills, including digital marketing and multi-channel campaigns with an understanding of all major channels, metric setting, and brand KPI measurement
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including expert ability to interpret data and measure effectiveness
Powers of collaboration and persuasion; you don’t just know how to run a program, you know how to bring others along and gain alignment
Exceptional communications skills, verbal and written, and experience engaging and advising senior leadership and C-level executives
Ability to manage budgets and allocate work effectively to freelancers or outside agencies as workload and funding permits
Experience engaging, onboarding, and managing external vendors and agencies
Experience with B2B technology software, cybersecurity, and SaaS a plus
